A couple thoughts:
First, don't skimp out on your heater. Just googling for it, I found a reconditioned ChefSteps Joule for $79 for the next four hours.
Personally, I love my Joule, and you may end up wanting wifi etc. down the road, and it would be a shame to have underbought what you'll use for years.
I also use the WAOAW vacuum sealer which is under $20 at Amazon. Is it fancy? No. But it does things almost as well as a $150 model, and I'm not going to upgrade it unless I go full vacuum chamber sealer (in the fantasy world where I win the lottery).
For a container, hit up a restaurant supply store - or if you have them near you, a big ethnic grocery store that sells to restaurants. I use a $12 plastic tub I got, but I saw damned near the same thing in a giant Thai grocery store for $5.
And lastly, buy your bags in bulk from Amazon. You will use them, trust me, so get a bunch at a low price.
