• Polk S20 $300 - yep these new Polk's actually sound pretty good. I spend some time with them at the BlueBox and came away going alright they actually made something decent.

• Boston Acoustics CS26 $150/ea - Good sounding speaker with a smooth tweeter. (There were just 105/ea the other day so watch them)

• Cambridge SX60 $230 - On sale, they normally around $350

Any reason why you have not considered a project debut III? Out of the tables you listed I would probably pick the fluance, although I have never owned it or any of the others. I just think it seems like a decent unit. The good thing about the fluance is that it comes with an audio technica AT95e which certainly is a budget cartridge but I think it's a solid starting point and you can even upgrade the stylus on it in the future rather easily which can turn it into a pretty excellent cartridge. As far as speakers I usually always recommend these for starting out:

Other easier to drive options for under $200. Though yeah, Elac Uni-Fi UB5 refurbished for $280 is a good deal since the lowest on sale at Amazon is often $350 and rarely $300.

• 5" DIY kit, C-Notes $100, add around $50+ for tools and supplies. Kits includes pre-cut cabinets. Glue, solder, paint, assemble. Comparable to built speakers costing twice as much.
  
• 5.25" Wavecrest Audio HVL-1, and order on sale at Ascend $80 each + shipping, budget Ascends. Front ported. Neutral sound with a linear frequency response. Great mids which many speakers lack. To me, comparable to KEF Q100s. As with most bookshelf speakers, best with a subwoofer.
  
• 5" Wharfedale - Diamond 10.1 $199.
  
• 6.5" Wharfedale - Diamond 10.2 $225.
  
  Or look at 6.5" or towers if not ever adding a subwoofer.

If this a music only/mostly setup then I would scratch the Klipsch recommendation. 500$ will get you a very nice music setup. I would go for something like this for an amp
