For what it's worth, I use a cane like this one. The grip is made to fit the contours of your hand so your fingers don't have to grasp it as hard. You use this one slightly taller than a regular cane and so it also puts less pressure on your wrist. The one drawback is it only works in your right hand (or left) - it is not interchangeable. But I love mine because it is so easy on my poor hand.
