Crazy easy. If you dont mind destroying the original cable, you can cut it off closer to the board (but leaving a few inches), strip the 4 wires from the board's connector, and then solder those to the teensy. Bear in mind where the plate sites in the case so there's room for the teensy. After that, the trouble is mounting it however you like (i let it be loose, should fix that pretty soon) and having a usb cable for it. I personally just have this short cable loosely sticking out of the case, but you can take bigger steps for style.
Programming the teensy is extremely easy, basically drag and drop the Soarer utility to it. Depending on your model, some keys might not register correctly, so you'll have to remap those but that's step is easy too and won't cause harm if you do it wrong.
It's an incredibly satisfying first step to electronics modding with just a few steps. Good with it, you're going to have a lot of fun.
USB Mini B Male to USB Mini B Female Cable?
Wondering if anyone knows of someone who makes a cable like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B5HSA3Q/ref=psdc_464394_t1_B00S5LONT0
I was thinking something like this would be useful to have for certain keyboards where you don't want to constantly be disconnecting/reconnecting the USB cable. The idea is similar to an aviator cable but keeping it standard so you can basically use any other custom USB cable you want rather than having to use all aviator cables. Ideas are welcome if someone has a better solution to this.
