I haven't gone backpacking with my toddler yet but we have done some car camping just to get him excited about it. I was really paranoid about him getting smothered in a true sleeping bag so I got him a sleep sack with arms and legs from Amazon. Anything with 3.5 Tog would be for below 59 degrees. Like this one:
Slumbersafe Winter Bamboo Sleeping Bag With Feet 3.5 Tog I Love Teddy 18-24 months https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GNBIP38/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_di7XzbGBPA6TS
It usually dips pretty low where we are so I put him in fleece pajamas, the sleep sack, and potentially a little beanie too.
He didn't do so great on his first trip and I was super disappointed and thought my dreams of family camping would have to wait a while. But we tried again and he did awesome! Good luck!

Hang in there, mama! We definitely went through a sleep regression around 4 months too and it passed with time! I'd recommend sticking with a set bedtime routine and keeping any of her comfort items (i.e., the paci) or you won't know what's working and what isn't. As for naps, our LO didn't have a strict nap schedule at that age, we just let him sleep whenever/however long he needed to and only woke him up if his last nap was getting too close to bedtime. CIO can work to help babies go to sleep at bedtime, but is not very effective for middle-of-the-night wake-ups.

Some tips that helped us:

  • Frequent feeds in the evening (every 90 mins) to make sure he went down with a full tummy (adding formula could potentially upset her tummy),

  • Our LO has great fine motor skills, so we put extra pacifiers in his crib for him to find in the night (he uses the Soothies which are soft so it doesn't hurt if he rolls onto them),

  • White noise (just an app on my phone), seems to help put him to sleep and keep him sleeping longer,

  • A heavy-weight sleep sack (like this one), keeps him cozy warm and prevents him from waking himself up from wriggling,

  • Overnight diapers, no need for nighttime diaper changes that wake him up too much.

Good luck! The 4-month sleep regression definitely sucks!!

We love sleep sacks! We have an 8 month old girl. (and a 2 yo boy who no longer uses sleep sacks but did in his first year) We have cheap light weight ones from Amazon like $14 and they work fantastic! We also have the halo sleep sacks (which are expensive) in the fleece for winter but honestly the Halo sleep sacks are NOT worth $30.

I'm sure you already know, but if she's able to roll over then she shouldn't be swaddled any more - even in the Snoo. You should switch to the medium or large sacks and have her arms out. That can take babies a little while to get used to though. In our case he wasn't really comfortable with it for a couple of weeks. We started with one arm out, and locked the motion at the lowest level (otherwise if he cried, it got fast and his arm thrashed all over the place!)

As for transitioning to the crib... for us it happened by necessity. We were away from home for a night, so took his pack'n'play. We weren't sure how it was going to go, but had no other choice. But it went great! Our boy was clearly ready to sleep on his tummy and despite being in a new bed in a new surrounding, he slept almost as long as in the Snoo. Because of that, we decided to do his naps in the crib once we got home, and then a week or so later transition fully (we used the Wean mode on the Snoo for that week).

Like you, we were so reluctant to give up the Snoo. Sleep is so important to us, and we were worried we'd be going back to step one with him. But it wasn't like that at all - it was far easier than we anticipated.

We got him some sleep sacks (this is the one we bought but Halo/Carters/etc. all make similar things too) to give him that comfort that the Snoo sack provided too.

Good luck!

My son is 13 months and a few months ago we started using the toddler sleep sacks with the feet on them. He is tall and was constantly growing out of his sleep sacks so fast, and he always seemed to be kicking and getting twisted up in the fabric a lot. He moves around so much in his sleep I don’t feel comfortable giving him a loose blanket yet. So we got this footed sleep sack and it’s so much better. He’ll be able to fit in it longer and he sleeps soo much better with his legs separated for some reason.

We also keep his room around 68-70 degrees and he is comfortable with a cotton sleeper underneath this. I can’t stop him from standing in his crib so this also seemed like the safer option.

Carters makes great long sleeved micro fleece sleep sacks. I put our little in a regular shortsleeved onesie in one of those last winter and he was nice and cozy. 60 is pretty cold, you could easily do a long-sleeved sleeper under it for more warmth.

Sleep sacks are our 13-month-old's favorite! I like feeling like I'm keeping her blanket-level-cozy while not having any blanket risks. We have 3 in her current size, and we've used them since winter when she was in her crib alone but needed extra warmth (we had a fleece one then).

The ones we have now ( these maybe? ) are pretty light and we keep the house cool at night, so she wears a tshirt onesie underneath.

We used this one last winter (probably need a newer one) https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WULMGD6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oh yeah this is the same one but for 3-6 year olds: https://smile.amazon.com/Kids-Winter-Sleep-Sack-Sleeves/dp/B00CS1XSD0/ref=sr_1_40_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1503685533&sr=8-40&keywords=winter+sleep+sack

Also Halo has a winter sleep sack, we used one of those too. (We hate the Halo ones though because you have to mess about with the zipper at the top. The first one I linked to was much more user friendly, for us anyways.

For summer ones, we've been using the Love to Dream nuzzlin - they probably make a warmer one too. We really like theirs: https://smile.amazon.com/Love-Dream-Nuzzlin-Sleep-Small/dp/B00U6PX6YQ/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1503685634&sr=1-2&keywords=love+to+dream+nuzzlin

I just spent too much money on this sleep slack, but honestly, he's been sleeping at night and napping so much better in it - the daycare ladies love it too. My LO has control over his hands now, so this provides a great deal of cozy comfort for him. https://www.amazon.com/Petite-Chose-Adjustable-Length-Naturally/dp/B016AR9C1Y

My daughter's first winter (she was 6 months old in December that year) we got her a Baby Deedee sleep nest which is like a wearable duvet blanket. She started sleeping better immediately, it has a nice weight to it like a real blanket instead of a normal sleep sack. We loved that thing. She wore it until she was 14 months old and started getting her arms out of it. We just changed what she wore underneath it. In the summer with the A/C on it was just a onesie, in the winter it was long sleeve PJs.

u/srg717 · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

As other have said sleep sack... My baby is almost 9 months and yes it's been HOT here. I suggest a sleeveless sleep sack so they stay cool. At night, depending on the temp, he wears footed PJs or just a long sleeve onsies. On very hot days, he naps in just his diaper in the sleep sack.

We use the Zen Sack (because the weight helped transition out of his Merlin Sleep Suit, and he wears it backwards because he's a tummy sleeper), but sometimes he can also wear a Halo Sleep Sack I found for $10 at a Once Upon A Child. Sleeveless sleep sacks are amazing!! He still gets jammed up funny once in a while but because of the sack, he can't get his leg all the way through the bars

This has been our wonderful transition from Merlin sleep suit and they make different thicknesses which I love for the PA weather. She won’t sleep without some kind of fluff and only “naps” if not in her sleep sack at night. Just PJ’s in the crib won’t do! I have three of the medium weight, and one of the jersey cotton cause daycare is warm.

We love this one! Very big, warm, and great zippers.

Aiden Lee is a good one!

Baby Owl outfit is so cute.

For baby shower games, I went to one last year where we played THE PRICE IS RIGHT with baby products (diapers, baby wash, baby powder, etc.). Here is a picture I found on Google from someone else who did this game. And the gifts were just small things like these reusable cups full of candy/goodies. It was SO fun...

u/babyblanka · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

I think about this a lot too, because I see jammies likes this and REAAAAALY wish they were footed! Why isn't this kid wearing socks if he needs a wearable blanket!? My baby will kick those off in two seconds if she has to wear them all night.

Carters and Burts Bees both have nice footie pajamas, we usually just keep her in those almost all day when it's cold out. It's not exactly flattering, but keeps them warm!

u/ronin__9 · 1 pointr/camping

Yes, the clip on chair I linked is the newer version of what we had. The only time is didn’t fit was when there was a big decorative wood apron (or whatever it’s called) under the dining room table.

Sleeved ones are out there, but they are not cheap, [$30 to $40 dollars.] (https://www.amazon.com/Jasper-Baby-Attachable-Sleeves-Winter/dp/B01B147UBU/ref=pd_sim_75_1?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=3W1E54692N9JBS64V9RH&th=1)

One trick we had for if baby was scratching their face was to put tall socks over their hands and up their forearms.
Should work for warmth too.

I bought these ones from Amazon and really love them.

This sleep sack - We used Baby Dee Dee sleep sack on my son all last winter and it worked awesome!

Or maybe a weighted blanket?

u/entailments · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

We have a really big and warm sleepsack from Amazon. The medium size goes from 9-18 months, so there's lots of room to grow. On top of that, it has side zippers and a middle zipper, so it's easy to put on. It's only $7ish more than a halo one! http://www.amazon.com/Gunamuna-Gunapod-Wearable-Sleepsack-Chocolate/dp/B006D1UPSC#productDescription_secondary_view_div_1450011734491

u/fletcherlaw · 4 pointsr/beyondthebump

Someone gifted us the Baby Deedee Sleep Nest http://www.amazon.com/Deedee-Sleep-Sleeping-Medium-Months/dp/B003FZPD1I before our son was born. It's been the best! It's cozy but not so warm that he overheats. We do footie pjs or long sleeves/long pants pjs underneath and he's always the right temperature in the house. We keep the thermostat at 67.

u/ernieball · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

This is the other option - we're currently using Burts Bees cotton sleep sacks and, while they are breathable, they're pretty hearty when it's 80 degrees. I've had my eye on the Halo Muslins, but I haven't pulled the trigger because I'm wondering if he just needs something he can kick off when it gets too hot.
