I use these vinyl labels from Amazon. 36 for $16 and they're reusable and dont fall off when rinsing them. Just get some chalk markers to go with them and you're good to go. Take a look. Still getting used to writing on them......

Great idea. I thought about buying these stick on chalkoard labels - http://www.amazon.com/Chalky-Talky-Chalkboard-Bottle-Labels/dp/B00OTUNFUY/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1419988436&sr=8-12&keywords=bottle+chalk+labels , but not sure how they would hold up.
Print your own and apply with milk, or if you want water resistant these seem to do the trick
