Well I want the Garmin forerunner 10, but as it cost an arm and a leg I'll save it for next years tax return and instead focus on obtaining this for my cat. She is an indoor cat with an adventurers spirit. I'd like to let her explore outdoors... but in safe controlled situations.

I've used a basic H type harness for my cat for about half a year. She has attempted to desperately squirm out of it a couple of times, and failed, so they might work if you can find one in a large enough size. I've also tried a harness with wide mesh straps like this, and that she got out of effortlessly. So maybe the chest strap in a roman harness makes it easier to wiggle out of, and H type would be better?

A few weeks ago I swapped for a "Come with me kitty" harness, because she likes to run off after mice in the yard (flexi leash with "soft stop") and it seems like the jolt of a sudden stop would be better distributed in it. So far she hasn't got out of this harness, but she hasn't really tried either. The design seems like it tightens when there's pressure on the harness, which should be good. I may swap back to the H type though, feels more secure.

Well, how big do you mean? I have a cat that is almost 19 lbs. He's slightly larger framed (taller and longer) than his brothers. I bought this Come With Me Kitty harness in large and it fits him with just a tiny bit of adjustment room left. If he was fatter or much larger, it probably wouldn't fit him though. The fit is pretty close to the top end of the harness.

u/SpideyRawks · 3 pointsr/paracord

Is this a single dog we are talking about? Because isn't mushing like a pack thing?

Anyways, yeah, your idea of joining the straight sections with rings can work, you just have to be sure the paracord is ended really well so it won't come undone. Though is you are going to do the double solomon bar it should be okay.

How much is that harness? If my idea of the scale is right you are looking at around 250-300 feet of paracord at the low end, then a whole lot of time and effort. May be cheaper in the long run to buy the harness.

12 bucks. 300 feet of paracord will cost more.

I got this for my Boston a few months ago, and so far it has worked very well. I like that it fastens on the top-it seems to make it a lot easier to get him into it that way. He is around 20 lbs, and I got him a large.

It's actually a medium dog harness. My cat is 20 pounds, so cat harnesses tend to be much too small for her. It's this brand, but any harness that has the right girth should do the trick.

I know I posted an over-dramatic photo of her, but of harnesses I've tried, she seems happiest with this one.

I looked online, and I'm pretty certain it's this one.

ETA: they sell them on amazon.co.uk ! (not on the .com, though)

u/Barkbringer · 1 pointr/puppy101

So, this is obviously marketed for kittens, but I had a harness just like this and it was the first harness my puppy would tolerate at all because it was so thin and easy to ignore, and it adjusted at both the chest and shoulders.

I think it's very secure. Sure, here is the link

My pup has always gotten out of harnesses too so I stopped bothering a year ago but I recently saw someone post about a gooby harness a couple of weeks ago. I decided to buy one and it is definitely a game changer! She used to get too excited, pull, and choke herself then throw up. I don’t know what it is that is different but she now behaves and walks calmly with the harness on.

We use Puppia in an XL for our 30lb frog. It is great for walks, we put it on when going outside

I get Coastal harnesses from Amazon. They are definitely made for cats. I have tried tons of different harnesses- neither of my cats will wear a kitty holster and they can both easily get out of the ones that are just straps. These are much lighter and breathable. I recommend them! They do wear out after about 6-8 months of daily use but they're not very expensive so they're easy to replace.

u/tapetum_lucidum · 1 pointr/Pets

Lol, I tried that with my sneaky kitty. She did the classic side flop and refused to move. I sat next to her or moved her to the part of the yard that she always slinks towards. I gave up and didn't have the patience to continue. I bought a cheap harness and leash. My cat learned to twist out of hers eventually. I recommend a comfortable, sturdy harness.

These wipes for when kitty gets into minor messies

And this extra gentle wash so you can give her baffs and play!

A leash to go on walks

Oldie but goodie toy

You're going to need a tag in case kitty wanders off, and a collar of course!

Deshedding brush to control the hairs

Clippers to trim the nails

u/TheJadedSF · 1 pointr/bengalcats

I use a Flexi 16ft blue leash small - I think it's this one

And a standard nylon strap harness, like this one

Depends on how your cat walks, but there are probably going to be times where you need to drop the leash for whatever reason, nice thing is that this one is small enough to get out of most places and not heavy enough to choke the cat if they needs to carry the weight for a little. (stuck in a tree, tied up in a bush, sprinted out of your hand etc.)

u/LittleLoobyLulu · 2 pointsr/cats

Amazon!

It's a medium, which fits him really well, since he's a chunky boi at 15 pounds

u/trinp · 6 pointsr/cats

In my experience, it’s been this harness

My cat is 15 pounds so I’ve been a little limited in what fits him

Edit: I meant pounds as in his weight haha sorry I’m American
