Not only is that not a tree stand (although it does help the tree stand, I'll grant you that), but when you purchase an actual tree stand, you will need to re-cut the bottom of the tree before placing it in the stand, or the tree will be incapable of sucking up any of the water through its dry, shriveled stump and you will be left with an expensive pile of highly flammable kindling in a matter of a couple weeks.

Yeah most of them have screws that you screw into the trunk. It’s hard to get the tree straight. Then as the tree softens during time it may start to lean. That’s what happened to my last real tree, it fell over just before Christmas and broke half my ornaments. I went a bought a fake mine the next day and said never again. But I found this highly rated stand https://www.amazon.com/Krinner-Genie-Christmas-Stand-Green/dp/B000XRQUSQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1543185627&sr=1-4&keywords=Christmas+tree+stand
