Hey there! I got the green light from the SO on cloth diapers after we tried one from a friend and he saw they weren't so hard to use!

So my current plan involves buying thirsties covers and sewing some prefolds.

Would a prefold with a top layer of athletic wicking fabric: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H944Z88/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_5AzBxb73G4WPG

Middle layer of zorb, outer layer of cotton work?

I was thinking of tucking the ends of the wicking fabric over the zorb and top stitching that over cotton as like a trifold.

Would this work laundry wise? Anything I've missed or misunderstood about this whole thing?

Thanks!!

Edit: thinking maybe like repurposed flannel instead of the wicking fabric? Looking for something to help baby feel dry. Bonus if it isn't too hot/unbreathable (like I'm imagining-perhaps incorrectly- that microfiber or even flannel is?)

Oooh, I like this :)
I'm saying light blue (like pastel, not bright)

And I think just a simple gingham is nice for curtains, like this

Let's change out those curtains! And if I did win, I would like this laundry bin , I know it's not necessarily a decorative thing, but the basket I have at the moment looks rubbish, and I'd like to have something that makes my room look nicer, as well as just being useful

u/nastygal · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Let's get some neutrals in that room:

  1. BEHR #PWN-67 Nurture - It's like a soft grayish blue. Really pleasing to the eyes and calming.

  2. BEHR #730B-4 Winter Cocoa - This taupey color looks like it would work well with that gray-blue.

Having neutrals allows you to be more creative in your decorating. I don't think you can go wrong with any neutrals.

    Now...

    Let's change out those curtains!

Keeping in mind that you're a guy, I refrained from linking in flowery curtains. But I did choose more than one. I hope one of them fits your personality:

You'll want to get a heavy-duty faux shearling/sherpa fabric. I haven't used this one here on Amazon, but it looks like it might fit the bill for you. I wouldn't recommend getting it from a chain fabric store like Jo-Ann's, because if you do, you will most likely have to replace it again in the near future. Good Luck!

u/youreabuttface · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Teal and coral!!

like this room

I like this fabric for curtains if you wanna keep it simple.

This fabric is pretty amazing too

Alexander Henry has the best fabric though. I mean, you could have mustache curtains, neon zebra heads, these awesome mushrooms and just keep the walls the same color, or even some freakin pinup twilight fella curtains!!

Let's change out those curtains!

Also I like this or a yard of any of the fabrics listed(minus the twilight guys).

Oh shit i got this.

blue EL wire, as has been suggested - you can put a roll of this inside the main crystal and route it through the shaft of the staff.

blue LEDs and resistors - individual lights

people have already posted the LED tubes for the bottom of the luminary/top of staff

or the most powerful thing I could find - with variable speeds, so I assume "still" is one - and would be AWESOME - the reviews are really good and it mounts with a very powerful magnet. battery powered.

J-J-J-Janna bound!

blue clear vinyl - this is what Id use for the crystals on the staff. very easy to work with, lightweight, pliable. Id mount layers of it together to make it rigid.

For the gems on her belt, you might want to check out using some resin casting if you cant find pre-made items! Its simple and almost idiot proof.

Id go a light weight PVC pipe for the staff and parts, in case you need to run LED wires through the main shaft, and with sculpey or model magic for the upper parts of the luminary on the top of the shaft - using a lightweight plate as a flat base to mount your LED or EL lights to. You could also use a large plastic bowl, cut to size/shape. Cover with modpodge or a water/glue mixture, then spraypaint with the Krylon hammered metal metallic paint in the appropriate color.

DIAGRAM Im more than happy to walk you through fabrication if you need or want help.

I would loveeeeeee one of those! I actually have this ice pack on my wishlist right now because I have to get 2 teeth cut out this month and I think it would help out a ton afterwards. And with it warming up here, my lil one gets to go outside to play more and she's always getting some bumps and bruises that she could use an ice pack on. She tends to get frustrated with a few ice cubes and a plastic baggy. lol I love zebra prints but that cat fabric is absolutely adorable!

Thanks for the contest!

HANDMADE ROCKS!

I recommend this yard of navy aida I have bought black and light blue from the same company they are great. The fabric comes folded but irons out beautifully. I under estimated how much fabric that is, when unfolded it's much bigger than my dining room table. $19 for 59"x36" is a great deal for aida (plus prime shipping) I'm on mobile so if the link doesn't work the company is happykatehehe.

Yeah I really like having the slightly smaller 16:9 screen for gaming, and then the super wide for movies. Works nicely for me. :)

The Optoma projector has a digital zoom. So I have it setup where the 100% zoom is at the widest I need it for 2.35:1, and then I do a negative zoom to get the smaller 16:9.

So far I really like the panels. I've only had them up for a few days but they work great and I'd say worth the tiny investment of about $15 total and probably 20 minutes putting them together. The fabric is what I linked below, just bought 1 yard. And I used a big sheet of foamcore I bought at Hobby Lobby. https://www.amazon.com/Stretch-Velvet-Fabric-Apparel-Costumes/dp/B00RVYU5SA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1486440560&sr=8-3&keywords=black%2Bvelvet%2Bfabric&th=1

[This](VViViD Marine Waterproof Vinyl Fabric Choose Your Color Sold by the Yard (5-color Sample Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LDGO8P2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_gpzlzbS6KAPEV) is what I'm talking about. So possibly the same thing. Faux leather is usually vinyl in this case, but buying marine grade is a good choice because it's thicker, and waterproof. You still have to be careful with silicone lube, but it works well for any thing else. We had some massage tables that we had to redo because of normal wear and tear, and they have been great.

Thank you! I was prepared to gather them all separately, but luckily I found a precut that did the heavy lifting for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XX4VSZG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It worked out perfectly!

I found this on amazon, Polar Fleece Print Leafy Leafy Fabric By The Yard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C8ZCYMQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_G2U6xbDD3HGTX
And I saw some camo fabric that's pretty nice on ebay.

This is my male, and I have two girls.
I took this picture shortly after I trimmed his nails.
He is always happy and excited after his nails feel better.

Great stuff!

Headliner fabric could work. It might be a bit too thick from what I’ve seen.

I was thinking along the lines of some microfiber/suede fabric with a thin layer of padding behind it.

Something like this velvet adhesive sheets or this microsuede adhesive sheets on the inside. And maybe cover the ouside with canvas might make it look quite nice.

I would suspect that the shell provides enough protection as it’s quite hard, so just a thin bit of padding on the inside is good.

The top vents and R L buttons only really need to be exposed when the switch is being played (the shell is open). Otherwise when it’s shut and off, it shouldn’t overheat.
I realize with a hinge, opening it and having a lip move out the way might be difficult, but for the fabric version it will work.

What are you thinking for the latch?
I think the original Switch Lite case may use magnets, which I think I could do by hiding it under the fabric. Or creating a kind of fabric/leather strip with one of these magnets attached. could also work.

For the fabric version, would that be easy now that you have this version almost done? Would it just be a matter of tweaking and removing the hinge etc?

I made it from this fabric. The design is similar to the hitch and timber duz-all with a back compartment for a notebook and two front compartments. The fabric is super easy to work with, seems pretty durable and doesn’t seem like it will fray at all.

I know the exact details of this type of construction because i do it on all my jeans.

They will for sure do the alterations on the outseam. Tell the seamstress you want to keep a bound edge on the finished pants. You can go to the fabric store near you and pick up seam tape to bring with you to the tailor. They come in 3-4 yard packages, and you want the 1/4-3/8 inch double fold stuff(get a pack of the 1/2 inch stuff too just in case). If you provide the seam(bias) tape there is no reason she/he cant leave you with this same finish, it's actually very easy to do on an outseam. She/he will have to remove it from most of the outseam, sew the taper, cut the excess fabric and sew the new seam tape on to make the alteration.

If they wont do that then find a tailor who isnt a lazy schmuck. This is a pretty easy fix.

edit: I know what im talking about http://imgur.com/ZkXj9aJ thats the same construction on the fly and teh inside waistband.

Edit 2: If you dont have a fabric store walmart will have seam tape in their crafts and fabric section if your walmart has that section. or you can order it onlne for $5 or so. White seam tape is easy to find, also called Bias Tape. https://www.amazon.com/Double-Fold-Bias-Tape-White/dp/B00AB41JA0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1484604903&sr=8-5&keywords=white+bias+tape+double+fold

You can get a yard of canvas for just over 5 dollars.
