I thiiiink I've done an ok job with the Indonesian Islands but they are just so complex to cover on such a huge canvas like this. I have a few stamped cross stitch kits, and I LOVE them! Just haven't gotten to finishing them because I'm easily distracted...anyway. Stamped cross stitching is super nice because, as long as it's properly printed, there's no need for a complex pattern or counting. You can turn on Netflix, sit back and stitch the day away without having to constantly check that every stitch is right.

The three kits I've gotten (Tree, Wolf, and Garden) are surprisingly good quality, and all are printed perfectly. Not super high quality, but good enough for a gift or hobby project.

Also, you are able to wash them! The ink used to color the aida is water soluble. There should be instructions in the directions that came with it on the best way to get the pattern off. I can't remember exactly how (and my easily distracted butt hasn't finished the three I'm working on...) but I do remember seeing it explained in the instructions. If not, Google is a wonderful thing. Good luck with your tree!

Started this a while back, but finally finished it earlier this year for my sister's baby shower. It's the Woodland Baby Stamped Cross Stitch Crib Cover Kit by Bucilla. I did end up changing some of the colors as I went to better fit in with what she liked.

These plants - they are clean air plants, and come in 4 inch pots, so they don't take a lot of space. Good for most homes (and, not asking, but they also make self aerating pots that hold more water without water logging roots - that's on my wishlist too - a good add for later when you need to move your plants to a larger pot - plus the extra room for more water means less likely to die from lack of - though I am scatterbrained and still need a reminder on my phone for my plants at home that aren't in my space and easily noticeable- my work plants, though, they thrive!)

Yes! When I first started I found Peacock & Fig on YouTube and I learned so much there! The biggest thing I learned was looping the thread in the beginning of a line so you don't have a bunch of thread sticking out that you have to stitch over and how to hide the end knot of a line so that the back of your pattern looks as smooth as the front! You don't have to be creative as you follow a pattern that's already established. You can find really cute ones that target something you really like.

Example of a beginner needlepoint, it comes with the pattern printed on the mesh you just find the color and put it in. Kinda like a paint by number but with a needle and yarn...

It was actually pre stamped, but the cloth it came with was so bad, I thought I would use the opportunity to convert to 20ct Aida.

It is this kit http://www.amazon.com/BUCILLA-46186-Woodland-Stamped-34-Inch/dp/B00RA2F65K so instead of the holey Aida cloth, it is stamped onto the fabric. I am thinking of doing batting in between though just because I'm not exactly a confident cross stitcher and I do knot my thread on the back, which is supposed to be a no no. But especially with it being a baby item that's going to be washed, I'm not comfortable with just weaving my ends in. So I think you might be able to feel the designs and knots through the backing fabric if I just do the two layers.

Edit: cute blanket! I think it might do that, since each design on the blanket is blocked in, I could just stitch around the block and that should be enough to hold it
