Ah, see. Any of the real upgrades I would have suggested are definitely not palm-sized. They're smaller than regular clippers, but not as small as the tiny Conair one or the Wahl Pro Pocket Trimmer. I'll link them anyway so you can have a look:

Andis EasyClip Mini Trimmer

Wahl Mini Figura

Wahl Touch Up & Stylique Combo Kit

I have a tiny Conair one that I bought a long while back to do my dog's pads at home. Worked great on clean hair, not as great on dirty hair. The blade got gummed up and jammed easily. I don't know if that's a new development or not. I stopped using it immediately when I got my real clipper for work. I would expect the ones by Andis and Wahl to be higher quality, so the fact that your Wahl one jammed up completely is disappointing. If it were a regular clipper from your description I'd wonder if it were a blade drive issue, but there's no fix for that in the little ones as far as I know.

Me personally, I'd just attack the face with thinning shears.. :)

i use this one here in combination with rounded, blunt-end scissors.

Shave your head every time you get a haircut so you can just let it grow after and go up to 3-4 months without having to schedule one.

I'm planning on getting [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Grooming-superior-professional-9281-210/dp/B002R81SN6/ref=zg_bs_3024204011_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GCRS522ZPJGS5V8F7NRJ) so I can just do it myself every few months.

My father is a vet and has had this model for years with no failures whatsoever
