Are you wearing makeup in that picture?

Also, if you have a Walgreen's, they take returns up to 30 days after purchase date with a receipt, no questions asked.
L'oreal is a little more expensive as far as drugstore brands go, but it's my favorite and is what I use when I do a full face. It's super dooper easy to find your shade, too.

L'Oreal True Match Super-blendable in W3 is what I mix with the L'Oreal True Match Lumi in W6. I mix them for two reasons;

  • I tan so my coloring may change.

    and

  • The Lumi gives a little bit of a dewy look without looking oily, whereas if I wore just the Super Blendable, I look dull...and like I tan too much. It just looks ...way off lol

Then I use L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable pressed powder.

A tip I haven't shared yet, and may make me odd...but I do the pressed powder after bronzer for contour and after blush and highlighter, and then just blend, blend, blend.

My favorite brush is a stippling brush. I just started using it about 4 months or so ago, bought it 6 months ago lol This tutorial really helped me with it. I love Marlena! She taught me brows too ;)

For blush, I am in love with Cover Girl Cheekers. I don't use it anymore cuz I've moved on to other stuff...but you said inexpensive. And it is. Especially at Walgreen's where they OFTEN do BOGO 1/2 off.

I will use white shadow for a highlighter when paler and a light gold or pinkish irridescent gold when I'm tan.

    Make up for rosie.

I just made mine the other day! They're roughly organized by store or function:

For something a bit higher end but not too over the top is think the It Cosmetics brushes would be great. You can find them at Ultra beauty.

Something a bit cheaper that I swear by that would allow you to get her a full set of face and eyebrushes is the Lamora brush set. These aren't talked about often but the quality is fantastic and they have fantastic packaging so they make a great gift.

This is a great set of face brushes

Here is a fantastic set of eye brushes. I use these everyday and they are so good. Very durable too.

A few years ago I moved to Southern California to live on the beach so that I'd have stable weather. Even though about 75% of my symptoms have cleared up (Success story w/ helpful info here https://www.reddit.com/r/eczema/comments/5ahk4z/at_30_years_of_age_i_was_finally_able_to_find_a/) once and a while I still have flare ups.

I just got back from a trip in the mountains where the temperature dropped down to below -20c at night. It was very dry extreme conditions. I survived for about 5 days, just barely. I've taken a photo just out of the shower where you can see my skin is starting to become very red (no steroid use either). I want to show all the other guys that have similar problems how I make it through a flare up without having the embarrassment of an extremely red face and neck. The light in the photo somewhat exaggerates the "tan" color on my face. A second application of the moisturizer detailed below would smooth over those areas that are still red and flaky.

I've tried many other products to try to calm my face or to try and hide the redness. None have worked. To hide the red face many products try to use green tint to neutralize the color, but it ends up turning your face into a ghostly white color that you probably will get many more comments on than a red face that most people assume is from too much sun.

I use bareMinerals tinted moisturizer cream. It is sold as a "complexion rescue". It sells for $25-35 (http://amzn.to/2jrKSOt) in the USA and one bottle with daily use is good for about 3-6 months. They have different levels of tint depending on your skin tone. I'm somewhat fair skinned so I use "02 vanilla" which seems to be fairly popular. http://i.imgur.com/d8oEdko.jpg

As you can see in the picture you can use a smoothing brush ($20-30 http://amzn.to/2jrQGI0) to help apply the moisturizer. You put a few drops on your hand. http://i.imgur.com/nyXhMbE.jpg

Then you dab the brush in the moisturizer and make a swirling motion to apply it. I noticed that I use much less of the moisturizer when using the brush because it spreads it out into a smooth thin layer on top of my skin.

I would suggest you going to a bareminerals store, or go to the bareminerals website and find out which stores sell their products (they are sold worldwide). If you go to a bareminerals store they will help you find the correct shade of tint. They can also supply you with a 1-2 week sample that you can take home so you can try the product to make sure your skin will not have a reaction.

I have very sensitive skin, but I wouldn't classify my skin as the most sensitive. The moisturizer really doesn't moisturize the skin that much, so it is best if you take a shower, apply your moisturizer, and then let that sink in for a few minutes before applying. The tinted moisturizer in my opinion is very light weight and does not sting.

You will noticed in the photo that after applying there are still some red spots. After the tinted moisturizer has dried I put some Aquaphor on those areas and mix in some of the tinted moisturizer. With the finishing brush I can also get my ears, neck, and a bit more into my beard. If you see my face in natural daylight it is very hard to tell unless you are within a few feet that I might have anything on my skin. The light in my bathroom does seem to make it look more than that it is. I could probably use a second thin coating of moisturizer to help smooth out the colors. One application typically lasts for about 6-8 hours before you need to reapply.

If anyone asks I just tell them I have a tinted sunscreen that I use because I get burned easily and it hides my sunburns and/or it gives me a little color.

Before my fiance and I were dating he made me pee on myself, he gave me my first kiss ever while I had before mentioned pee on myself.

Its a long story. ANYWAY!

We were hanging out at his friends house. And it was nighttime. It was almost my curfew time (I was 14) and so I left his friends house and started walking home. I went down the block and then turned left. Kept walking.

All of a sudden.

I've been grabbed. Someone has me by the legs, and someone has me by my upper body a hand over my mouth. I remember instantly crying. Strangely the first thought that went through my mind was "Mama told me this was gonna happen if I kept wearing short skirts". I went through a goth phase through middle and high school, I wore a lot of very short plaid schoolgirl esque skirts with combat boots.

Somehow my eyes get covered, and I am put down. I'm somewhere and its dark. I can tell im in a chair. They have tied my hands and feet to it. I hear them talking and discussing some vulgar tactics.

Then...

I just pee.

If you've ever been so scared you pissed or shit yourself you'll understand. If you haven't you've probably wondered how I peed myself. Well, I don't know. I'm sure all my private bits were clenched as tight as could be but it didn't stop me from peeing.

I guess they heard the sound of the pee hitting the floor and turned on the light. I was so embarrassed when I saw it was them, I guess I almost wished for a second it was someone else. The friend left and my fiance untied me.

He walked me home, and promised he wouldn't bother me for a whole week if I gave him a kiss. So I did, and it was awesome. We will be celebrating 8 years this October.

I will make a doodle on paint because you kinda have to see the setup of the blocks to see how they sneaked up on me.

Makeup brush, different shipping options.

EDIT- My map They must have gotten the bright idea maybe a minute or so after I left. Then followed close behind me. It was late September so by 8 at night it was super dark. They went through the alley, the friends step mom owned the house with the privacy fence so they just went through that yard, and intercepted me when I passed where the fence stopped. Then carried me back through the yard and alley.

Real Techniques, Sonia Kashusk, Sigma, ELF. I actually got this brush for highlighting on Amazon and am in love with it. Got it based on the reviews. Never even heard of the brand. I have everything from ELF brushes to YSL and some of my cheaper ones are my favorites. I do love my huge YSL powder brush though.

I am not totally anti-Morphe but definitely no sets from them. Some brushes are supposedly pretty good and some are garbage.

I don't like sets, because there are usually some duds, even with expensive brushes. I like to look up reviews for each individual brush and go from there. Search around on MakeupAlley and Amazon. Maybe make a list of brushes you specifically want that are within a budget you think is appropriate?

u/terberter6669 · 6 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Sure thing! Step-by-step, comin' at you.

  1. Make sure area is clean and dry. Put face moisturizer on it and let it soak in.
  2. Put primer on, not just on the marks but all over the area. This is actually an important step because sweat and clothing are going to be working against you all day so having primer on there will help the makeup adhere to your skin mo' betta. And it'll just look smoother.
  3. Put a color-correcting concealer on. I used green, but yellow would probably also work (green cancels out red tones, yellow cancels out purple). Put the color correcting concealer ONLY on the marks, not the surrounding skin (aside from a little bit of blending so the edges aren't too sharp). I used this flat foundation brush, but fingers might work as well.
  4. Put on your normal, skin-tone concealer. Apply this directly on top of the color correcting one, and also into the surrounding areas to blend it. I used this brush to stipple it on. She can look up youtube videos of how to stipple, but it's basically just bouncing the product onto your skin.
  5. Brush on a thin layer of translucent powder. This helps set the first layer of concealer so that you can pile on more layers without them muddying or blending together, since you want to create a layer effect and not a puddle of concealer. I used this powder and this brush to do so. Any translucent powder and large brush will do the trick!
  6. Repeat step #4!
  7. Then repeat step #5!
  8. Use your normal foundation and stipple brush for a final layer that should be pretty seamless with the rest of your skin.
  9. I chose to do a final layer of translucent powder, but that's because I live in Southern California and it's hot and I need to be prepared for the gym. I'm sweating a lot of the time. She could probably go without.

    Good luck!

comment content: I'm also assuming that you are still learning makeup basics, so here's a list of a few things that I think would make a solid set which you can find on amazon or, most likely, at your local drugstore and won't break the bank:

u/DarlingBri · 5 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

Nope, I've pulled a total of three hairs out of palettes. My BFF was all "Morphe, Morphe, Morphe!" but we live outside the US and sis I am not made of money. I bought the Miss A ones (LOVE the case they come in, too)and this 16-piece face set when it was the Amazon Deal of the Day in the UK (I think I saved $1!) and I am really happy with them. Plus there are dupes between them and I love never running out of eyeshadow brushes!

u/atranscouple · 3 pointsr/asktransgender

Start with these three simple things:

  1. Liquid Foundation (https://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-New-York-Foundation-Packaging/dp/B001Q8568G/ref=sr_1_3_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1466479185&sr=1-3&keywords=liquid+foundation)

  2. A brush to apply the Liquid Foundation (https://www.amazon.com/EcoTools-1202-Flat-Foundation-Brush/dp/B001KYVOJQ/ref=sr_1_13_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1466479200&sr=1-13&keywords=liquid+foundation+brush)

  3. A powder foundation (https://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-New-York-Poreless-Porcelain/dp/B00PFCSNWK/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1466479234&sr=1-1&keywords=powder+foundation) and this includes a pad brush inside of it.

You apply the (1) liquid foundation to your face very evenly with (2) the brush (especially around your eyes) and then 'set' it with the (3) powder foundation by just tapping it all around your face until you can't see any of the shine from the liquid foundation anymore. Good luck!! And welcome to the makeup club; you're in for life. :P

P.S. it's called a 'foundation' because it's meant to cover up your whole face and make it look perfect. Once you get good at this, you can move on to more fun things but this will make you look nice :)
u/ninja002 · 3 pointsr/Makeup

You just need to blend in some concealer on the dark areas! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002S8VF5G/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1371249521&sr=8-2&pi=SL75

If this isn't your shade just amazon search 'concealer' until you find the right color. Pay attention to the reviews! Make up is something you want to spend extra money on because the quality is most important. If the product is shit its going to make you look like shit.

Here's a tutorial on how you can apply it. Check out the recommended videos for more insight. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2lpkiT5Um6c

You should be good with just that. I would suggest you invest in a translucent powder to set the concealer and make sure it stays in place. (Helps not rub off and absorbs the shine to give it more of a matte finish so it looks more natural)Totally optional though!

You can get away with just using your finger to apply the powder instead of using a brush. Just press the powder from your finger to the concealed area and lightly blending what you need to. Sometimes the powder comes with a sponge pad thing but if not I'll give you a link to the right brush if you're really interested.

Sorry for the long reply! If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Maybe you can look at the Mac Oval 6 brush? That's $42 and I've heard great reviews from them. The guy who makes the Artis brushes actually made these for Mac as well if I remember correctly... he then split from Mac and went to do the artis brushes. http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/13805/28045/Products/Brushes-Tools/Brushes/Face-Brushes/Oval-6-Brush

There's also the Etude House brush which runs for about $11-$15, depending on where you order it. My friend has this one and loves it as well! http://www.amazon.com/Etude-House-Beauty-Secret-Brush/dp/B00RBACPWS

u/infinitivephrase · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I hated foundation for years, for similar reasons. I didn't understand why it seemed to look so wonderful on everyone but me. My first problem was color matching, my second was issues with how it would lie on my skin. Brushes and beauty blenders never really helped. Then I saw someone pat on their foundation. I tried it. Dingdingding! It completely changed how foundation looked on my skin. I also found one of these brushes: http://www.amazon.com/Lookatool®-Cosmetic-Blusher-Toothbrush-Foundation/dp/B018QU1I9M/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1457059659&sr=8-1&keywords=toothbrush+makeup+brush

I don't apply with the brush, I pat on the foundation and then go over it lightly like I'm buffing/blending with it. It made things even smoother.

I have read some of the comments and the descriptions you've given of your skin. I would be incredibly careful with exfoliation. Your skin sounds irritated, and acids, especially AHA, won't be kind to it. It sounds like you need some good hydrators along with a gentle emollient.

u/Sea_Hag · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I use a artis knockoff brush i got on amazon for $4, for me it works better than a regular brush or the beauty blender. Heres the one I have, I really like it.

honestly though go to /r/MakeupAddiction and ask them what drug store products they would recommend. its better to shop in store for this kind of thing in my opinion

u/pompea · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

The last seller that had these was fulfilled through Amazon, but only had a few left in stock and they sold out yesterday, which is why a different vendor is there.

You can see the vendor is still selling other brushes like this one. "Beauty and Baskets LLC" is their name.

If you click on "Make Up Forever" under the item name and then head over the left sidebar and click "Prime Eligible" you can see a few other brushes being offered too. :)

You can also just click on the vendors name, but they sell more than just MUFE so it's kind of a mess.

u/Aoibhell · 3 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

I'm super pale, so my favorite contouring products are the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette and Taupe blush by NYX.

The brushes I use are Sigma F84 Contour Kabuki for the contour, [Sigma F82 Round Kabuki brush] (http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-F82-Round-Kabuki-TM/dp/B0045W22SW/ref=sr_1_15?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1412465163&sr=1-15&keywords=sigma+brush), and a crappy liquid foundation brush like this one only WAY crappier for the lighlighting.I'm definitely looking to replace that old crappy brush...lol.

Here are a couple of video tutorials that I found to be really helpful:

I bought the Lamora Kabuki flat top brush and I absolutely love it. https://www.amazon.com/Foundation-Brush-Flat-Top-Kabuki/dp/B00JWVWDR6

I've cosplayed Marcaline and had my (ex)bf do Marshal Lee so I can definitely help!
Snazaroo Grey Face Paint for all over color. You get a cheapie Foundation brush and dip it lightly in water, then brush the paint, then paint cho face!
The makeup you cannot buy traditional powder makeup and use face paint with. It's difficult to get it to go on evenly and doesn't blend AT ALL. I would suggest contouring with another face paint like pale blue
The two eye products used in the video look to be a cream eyeliner in black
and Blue liquid liner

u/kareem_brulee · 6 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Yep! Just focused them on the scars and blended them out with the brush by bouncing it instead of using circular motions, which tends to move the product, therefore losing coverage.

And it's the round kabuki from this set - http://www.amazon.com/USpicy-Cosmetics-Brushes-6-Piece-Professional/dp/B00KYJPJ0S

Hope this helped :)
