>As the title suggests. Picked up a pair of Macro blade 80 Rollerblade's with slow roll. I thought I was upgrading my Zetra blades but the Macro's seem so much slower( lots of work).
>
>Any suggestions on an Amazon upgrade wheel/bearing package for outdoor asphalt/concrete skate.

As far as free-spin of the wheels goes, the stock bearings for the Macroblades are a sealed bearing lubricated with a silicone-based grease. In general, grease-lubricated bearings do have a "run-in" period where they do not spin quite as freely as they will once they're run-in & warmed-up.

"Grease lubricated super-precision bearings initially run with a relatively high frictional moment. If they are run at high speeds without a running-in period, the temperature rise can be considerable. The high frictional moment is due to the churning of excess grease, which takes time to work its way out of the contact zone." (source)

Though, it should be noted that, in truth, oil-lubricated bearings also have a similar "run-in"/"break-in" requirement - see here.

As far as slower skating speed and requiring more work to get/keep going, the stock wheels for the Zetrablades and the Macroblades are of the same hardness: 82A. in general, a harder wheel rolls better, as a harder wheel deforms less under load, and loses less energy to hysteresis - "The primary cause of rolling resistance when a body (such as a ball, tire, or wheel) rolls on a surface is hysteresis. This is attributed to the viscoelastic characteristics of the material of the rolling body." If both skates were using the stock wheels (or identical replacements), both would experience the same energy losses, assuming all else is equal.

And, as you describe your Zetrablades as "well worn" & mention using a lithium grease to lubricate the bearings in those skates, I would presume that you are not using the original wheels or bearings in the Zetrablades?

With regard to potential upgrades, pretty much any serviceable bearing from a reputable company (examples: the ILQ series from TwinCam, or the Reds series from Bones) will do, and wheels for outdoor use should generally have a somewhat higher durometer than that of the stock Zetrablade/Macroblade wheels - something like these, these, or these (all 80mm/85A) would work well.

3 wheeled skate are usually 3 wheel because the wheels are extra big. Tall wheels are hard to ride, the center of gravity is higher. 80mm and under wheels(no smaller than 76). 4 of them.. The most impotant part of a skate is that it fits right. It sounds like you should get a fitness skate. Have a skate fit right is probably more important than anything. Go to the store and start trying them on.. find one that fits snug but doest have any spots digging into you. make sure your heel stays firm in the heel cup. If you don't have a decent selection you will have to buy online and be ready to return them unless they fit well!! this would be a good skate for you if it fits. https://www.amazon.com/Roces-Mens-Veni-Inline-Skates/dp/B00VVK0PQM

I'm saving up for either a pair of Roller Skates (not sure if these specific ones or not, they are just what I have in my wishlist) and a Breadmaker.

The skates I am saving up for because I am an ice skater, I love it, but I don't skate year round. I'd like to fix that with roller blades so that I never have an excuse not to be on skates. The breadmaker I'm saving up for because I spend so much on bread (I live partially off sandwiches) and I think it would save me so much money. Also, fresh baked bread whenever I want? Sign me up!

You know, one of my favorite movies is Saving Private Ryan

[General] I'm a 30/yo female and I just picked up these from amazon for specifically blading on a local wood floored rink (really nice place, Semoran Skateway in Orlando) but they have a black brake on one side, which isn't allowed in the rink because it will mark the floor. Not sure if that is common.

I was able to use an alan wrench to remove the brake, but the rivets are the kind that were not meant to be removed, and now my last wheel is just off on one skate. How can I replace the rivet if I can't find the information about what they are? There's not a lot if information available on the skate itself or the website and I am pretty new so I don't even know if I am looking at the right place or what the info I need is even called, or if my terminology is off.

I can create a video to show you what I mean as well if that would help. Thanks in advance!

I would adore this pair of skates, and think item #2 in your album looks fabulous.

Have a fantastic time in Thailand and thank you for your generosity!

I have the 90mm hydrogen's on a set of baats frames and love them! Thuro has a sale on them and they are a great shop, run by skaters for skaters.

That said, I also have a set of these: https://www.amazon.com/KSS-Outdoor-Asphalt-Formula-Inline/dp/B01GOEJGOG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=inline+skate+wheels+80mm&qid=1574295146&sprefix=inline+skate+whee&sr=8-3 on my k2 r80 frames, and they are a lot better then I expected them to be. For the price it's certainly a nice option to have.

Ok. I am guessing that modified shoes would be too much work for multiple pitchers, so you probably want some kind of force sensing mats on the mound. This company seems to have a ready made system but they don’t even show prices so it’s probably way expensive.

Here’s an interesting instructible similar to your goal which should be not too expensive

You definitely roll your own system with load cells and a multipart platform, I am not sure how consistent the foot placement is for pitching. You can make each platform segment have 4 load cells (one at each corner) and calculate average force that way.
You could also use FSRs for the platform corner sensors.

You could make some shoe attachments like old school roller skates used to clip onto shoes where you add the load cells or FSRs instead of trucks/wheels.

I got my Reidell Darts for under $100 (I think they were $85) because I wanted recreational quad skates, and they were the minimum if I later decided to join roller derby. They served me very well skating outdoors with outdoor wheels, and my stock wheels got me through roller derby fresh meat when I decided to join about a year later. I'm looking into better skates for derby now, but still love my Darts and they'll become my outdoor skates.

EDIT: These are my skates. Looks like the price went up a bit. Pay a lot of attention to sizing if you order skates--you will need a smaller size than you think.

Oh man, this is difficult..

I absolutely LOVE these skates. Mostly for the glitter.. More than anything I love these tennis shoes. I mean, pups and sushi!? How freaking cute, right?!

Yeah, this is an issue I've had to deal with on and off. I've got a handful of things I do, but it all depends on what the cause is and where it's happening. One question, do you pass the pencil test for proper depth?

I've used various lacing methods. One method is I use two laces on each skate, one for the bottom of the skate and one for the top. This way I have more control over how tight things are and where. Another method is to make it so the laces skip over the area that's being irritated. Here's a video showing the method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TePrbT8gk6M

You can also relieve pressure by not using the top eyelet, or you can use a runner's loop shown in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tCOdm7ubh8 you can position the loop over the tender area, and it will help with the pressure.

The next level up from this is to start changing the lacing system on the skates. You can try eyelet extenders found here. http://www.greatsaves.org/skate_lace_extenders.html

Those extenders are a little pricey for what you get, so you can rig something similar yourself. I took the lace locks off an old pair of skates and installed them onto my current skates. They effectively lift the laces higher off the affected area. Here's a picture of what the lace locks look like if you don't know https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTQ5MVgxNjAw/z/FREAAOSwxp9W8ya6/$_1.JPG They also make ones that are more like regular eyelets. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/Fp8AAOSwONBZESg1/s-l300.jpg Shops don't really carry these any longer, but you can find them on ebay.

And finally, you can do away with the laces all together and use Option B skate straps.

http://www.chooseoptionb.com/

Or you can replace the laces with rollerblade ratchet buckles.

Hope this helps.

Easiest upgrades are the Bones Reds Bearings if you're still using stock Kwik ABEC's (if you've never changed your bearings, you probably are).

For roughly the same price, the Moto Deluxe Bearings are gaining popularity as a better built bearing. I've been using them for a few months. They're very good, but recently some of them are making a very loud clicking noise when I roll, even after cleaning and re-greasing them. Due to that, I'm not 100% on recommending them as of yet, but they're definitely an option to explore if you want to look for more input.

When I first got into big wheel blading I put some Kizer Advance frames on some Valo's with 80mm wheels, they felt absolutely amazing! So much fun compared to an anti rocker setup. Whilst there are better/comfier boots for the job it'll still feel great. If by gamma you mean this

https://www.amazon.de/Powerslide-940171-Herren-Inline-Skate-Gamma/dp/B00VJZ5GKE

then that'S a 185 mm mount and wont fit the imperiial.

I assume this is the beta

https://bladeville.com/powerslide-beta-243-4x80mm.html

I don't know anything about it, but it seems a good price (was first hit on google). However, not sure if single axles are samme as imperial, so you may need to buy new axles as well. (may be a good idea to email PS or whereever you shop)

Personally i think you should treat yourself to these skates they are high priority for you and you deserve them. I know it is over $50 but if you decide to buy them, I will pay the difference as a birthday gift to you :)
