Don't get a cheap X-stand for your keyboard, get a decent Z-stand. Maybe this.

In terms of monitor mounts, you really have to think about your room shape.

You don't need a sub, but maybe a pair of bass-centric monitor headphones would help with tone-shaping. Sennheiser HD280s are cheap and would be much better value than going for a full sub.

Here's what I did for a similar issue, I bought: this stand and then just went and got a board and sanded it down and stained it and I placed my smaller gear on it on the second tier. I think It looks pretty nice to be honest.

u/reznaur · 1 pointr/MusicBattlestations

Sure. The stand is basically this (or perhaps exactly that - I forget the brand).

The wood is sitting on the upper level of the keyboard stand (where typically you would put another keyboard). Many people don’t like X-style stands (I’ve never had an issue), but if you search “multi tier keyboard stand” you’ll find a ton of different options.

Hope that helps.

I would do something like this https://www.amazon.com/Quik-QL742-Keyboard-Stand-Black/dp/B008FJXGKO?tag=musiccritic-search-20 and put a small piece of osb board between the top racks for it to sit on. This will also give you space for guitar pedals or a second desktop module. It may not be the prettiest but it is super functional. I have had my microkorg sitting on a piece of siding from my house for years since I want it on the stand next to other stuff.

Having a little bounce/wobble is very common most stands. Notice when you go to a guitar center or similar store, you'll see the stage pianos/keyboards on actual shelves. The best thing you can do is exactly what you suggested and try a different stand. If you order one through Amazon (like this one), you can return it very easily if you don't like it. You need something that is very sturdy as is.

I don't like x stands because they aren't that stable. Even double x stands. Especially when you have to jump around a lot or play loud, you won't have stability. This is the stand I have and I like it, it is very sturdy and has a lot of option for different heights and widths. It also can be taken apart if you need to store it and only requires an allen wrench (which it will come with if you don't have one). It is a little more expensive but in my opinion it was worth it because it was way sturdier. There may be other options you can find as well that are similar but cheaper, I haven't done any looking. https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-23-2-35-4-Adjustable-24-6-40-9-62-6-104cm/dp/B01IR0P5IQ/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=piano+stand&qid=1556408674&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-9

So last weekend I finally was able to buy a piano since I moved out after graduating. A Yamaha 120-p, I got a pretty good price for it and it came with a keyboard stand and bench. The piano is great, but the stand not so much. It wobbles like crazy when you do more than play a couple of notes, I don't really see anything wrong with it. It will give a little bit when the keyboard is rested on top of it, but I don't know if there's anything I can do to keep it from wobbling. Do I just have to buy a new one?

I believe this is the model: http://www.amazon.com/Stage-KS7390-QuikSqueeze-Single-Keyboard/dp/B0002ZO3OM, but I think this particular stand is about 5 or 6 years old.

Yeah I was talking about the Privia. I searched on SP-33 and it looks like you have to get that more substantial stand in this bundle:

How sturdy/stable are X-stands? Something like this

https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-PKBX2-Double-Braced-Adjustable-Keyboard/dp/B00079DRUO/ref=bdl_pop_ttl_B00079DRUO

If I'm playing something that takes some hard notes (like jumping chords) is it going to vibrate a lot of is it relatively stable?

u/waltzfordebby · 3 pointsr/piano

I have this Hercules bench too and it's great. One lever makes large step adjustments, and another knob makes finer adjustments so it covers a larger height range and is also more precise than my previous $50 guitar center keyboard bench.

i got one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B15JPCQ/ for my FP-30. the joint of the X was more solid and better designed than i expected.

How about Z stands? they look stable, Konig and Meyer are a bit out of price range for a single tier

This one seems well rated: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003R7KVAM/?coliid=IOU5OC27VM1Y8&colid=PCEEW9MUHWR&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

u/SkimmingtonRide · 4 pointsr/Accordion

You can get a stand; you can clamp the accordion at the right height and she can either sit and stand at it to play:

might be worth a try?

Stay brand keyboard stands are really good in my honest opinion, never got to try one for my own setup, but I did get to check them out at NAMM. lightweight but sturdy.

In any case, a regular double braces X frame stand will be enough for you.

You won't really need the use of the other two pedals besides the sustain.

If you aren't rough with your keyboard, this will be good enough for you!

$180 is too much as I think. This one would be better and much cheaper https://www.amazon.com/Gator-Frameworks-Keyboard-GFW-UTILITY-TBL-Utility/dp/B00BMUCRRQ/

u/Dooey123 · 2 pointsr/MusicBattlestations

Thanks. It's on This Z stand. I had to chop an inch off the top of the legs to have it low enough to fit under and also drill holes in the top arms so I could attach the crossbar across that part instead of low down on the legs http://i.imgur.com/B2xT0OX.jpg. I also removed the rubbery foam from the feet and stuck on felt pads so now the whole thing can slide in and out.

u/Fetus_Under_Glass · 3 pointsr/synthesizers

If you don't already have it, you need the keytar strap attachment, which looks like it just screws in the bottom. After that you can get literally any guitar strap, and just fix the little holes on the strap to the attachment on the keyboard.

u/grodius · 2 pointsr/piano

I bought this for my keyboard, I think its really solid and not much money

No problem, they are nothing special really.

The two stands on the right are double braced 2 tier keyboard stands. The top layer above the Nord stage has a wooden shelf on it and the Oddy is sat on a “DJ” stand attached to that.

The stand holding the v synth is handy as it allows the space underneath

I have a digital piano in my apartment and I use this stand, personally. I find that the stand is completely stable and I have no problems with it at all. I practice on standard pianos regularly and I've also played on the Yamaha Clavinovas previously and there's really not a huge difference, so I think you'd be fine either way.
