I have the same problem living in San Francisco. I use a folding hand truck similar to this one. Unfortunately I don't have a specific recommendation for a hardware store in your area, but any good hardware store should carry such an item. I bought mine from Sears for $30 USD.

I carry a Deluxe Reverb-sized amp and a smaller gig bag with effects and stuff on the cart, and carry my guitar in my other hand.

The reason you were issued a seabag is because it's collapsible and easily stored on the ship. So if you're going to a ship--get a seabag. You can invest in a luggage roller cart if you think you'll need help lugging your seabag through the airport....or if you have two seabags....

But if you're going to a ship, use the seabag. You can lay it flat under your rack mattress too, and it'll take no extra space in your rack.

At least this will fit in the oven if you need to heat-treat it while your soft bag is in the dryer. Hopefully 120F isn't enough to melt any plastic fittings, but if it is, $20 is a fairly cheap price to pay.
