Pimp my cube is actually a "kit" or as amazon calls it, a book supplement...

No matter what decorations you get for those stylish fabricy walls, you're gonna need this to hang it up with.

These are a handy passive-aggressive way to tell a fellow cube dweller to fuck off... politely that is. Or, take it one step further and get this Fill in the blanks and hang your current hatred on the wall for some sweeeeeeet satisfaction.

This little gem looks like a great addition while still being functional. Holding supplies and toilet humor? Count me in.

A desk calendar made of lego like objects? SWEET.

this should come in hand if you're like most of us and have sticky notes EVERYWHERE. What would be more peaceful than turning them into little cranes?

For the days when you don't have a spoon... these would be a great addition

I recommend this to keep spirits up

u/napjerks · 3 pointsr/Anger

Look at it for a second from the other way around. Anxiety leads up to anger.

Anger is often called a secondary emotion. It gets built up like a reservoir of gasoline by anxiety, frustration and fear about your situation. And when the appropriate trigger comes up the anger blows up like a match to a can of fuel that was already sitting there.

> "the desire to punish" and "rage"

These are efforts to restore control over what is happening in your life. These feelings can be managed by improving communication and using positive assertiveness. If you're having difficulty at work check out Difficult Conversations.

Something you can do now is try this free Anger Management Workbook. Don't even need to print it out. Just grab a pen and paper and get to work. It is very concise and quick to work through and find helpful techniques. You can take the notes with you the next time you see your therapist to help stay on topic for what's really problematic right now.

Generally speaking it's a good idea to keep a journal of your therapy visits. You can write down things that come up that you want to remember to talk about and work through. You can do it on your phone's notebook app or use Google Docs app. Field Notes are nice and small if you want a hard copy to carry around.

Also check out books like [Anger Management for Dummies](https://hmt.es/Anger Management For Dummies.pdf), When Anger Hurts or other books at your local library. Totally free to get a library card.

Good for you for getting help! Sometimes we just need to learn a few better techniques for dealing with our family and life's challenges. Good luck!

I've seen a couple people use those before, but it just seems a solution in search of a problem to me. Why spend $30 for something that just replaces pen and paper and will eventually wind up in a landfill?

I just go with one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Mead-Spiral-Books-80-Sheets-12-Pack/dp/B004R7GOPC

Mostly because I already had four or five of them, they fit perfectly fine in a pocket, and who cares if it gets lost?

u/robertgfthomas · 5 pointsr/Frugal

I didn't... I think the mods did. So I'm going to sneak in and repost.

What are some of the staple gadgets and gizmos you have to maximize portability, versatility, durability, and price, time, and space efficiency?

Here's my list:

-Feiyue shoes. Crazy cheap, they take up no room, and they don't look out-of-place in most situations.

-Light My Fire titanium spork. This is the only eating utensil I ever use, and I take it everywhere.

-Pyrex 4-cup Bowl. As long as I'm just making food for me, this dish is the only one I need. It can withstand pretty much everything, and the microwave-friendly lid is awesome.

-Platypus roll-up water bottles. Carrying around an empty water bottle is really annoying. These guys hold lots of water, and only take up as much space as the volume of water they contain.

-Milk crates and heavy-duty Rubbermaid containers instead of furniture. The only thing you can really do with a chair is use it as a chair, and the only thing you can do with a chest of drawers is use it as a chest of drawers. Might as well combine the two -- and make them really light and portable to boot!

-Lifetime folding table. This is the closest thing I have to furniture.

-Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed. It's a twin mattress, or two separate twin mattresses, or a king-size bed, it's comfortable as poo, and it folds up to nothing.

-Night Ize Gear Ties. I've used these for everything from coathangers to patching the handle on a neighbor's lawnmower to attaching the basket to my bike.

-MicroNet Microfiber Towel. Linen actually takes up a surprising amount of room. This guy works great, and folds away to nothing.

-Wellspring FlipNote. I've had my FlipNote for 5 years and it's been in my pocket every single day -- whether I was in South Africa, military combat training, business meetings, or going out with friends. It's an idea journal, an address book, a wallet, a writing surface, a pen... all kinds of stuff, and it's super-slim and super-durable.

-Bug-out bag. This isn't quite the one I have -- mine was about $60 and came with a CamelBak and tube inside -- but it's the right idea. When I was discharged from the military, I fit my entire life in this amazing backpack with room left over for the full CamelBak and hiked up and down the California coast for several days with no problems. The same backpack's still the only piece of luggage I use for travel, for class, for everything. It expands from normal backpack size to HUGE.

TL;DR If I can't pack everything I own into my tiny car in one hour, I have too much stuff.

(Edit: This list isn't everything I own, but it's the things that I figure would be useful to anyone.)

u/shitshiner69 · 1 pointr/StudentNurse

Maybe some of those tiny little notebooks that fit in your pocket? I use those to write down vitals and such without lugging a clipboard around.

Hair ties since she’ll have to have her hair up, or if she would like them, I really love spin pins because I can have my hair up all day and never get a headache like I do from a pony tail.

Also don’t forget lunchbox stuff could be useful too because hospital cafeteria food is disgusting and generally not very healthy. Like maybe some glass Tupperware , a lunchbox, or a water bottle/cup.

Also if your friend is like me and likes to wear makeup, she will want a lipstick that won’t quit! This stuff stays on through my 12 hour shifts and I just love it!

Really depends on how much you want to spend, but I find that that these are the things that really got me through clinicals.

u/Mush1n · 1 pointr/notebooks

Thanks for the response. The closest filofax product seems to be the Heritage Organiser. I was hoping to be able to find something a little less extravagant; perhaps more utilitarian. I did a bit more searching and found this mead ring-binder, which seems perfect but doesn't ship to Australia. Does anyone know of anything close to this?

Ninja Edit: I thought I should explain the use-case, as it might be helpful. I will be using this in hospital wards to take notes on cases as well as on specific conditions. They key features I am looking for are hard cover (so I can write while holding it), re-orderable pages, and the slimmest cover possible, to reduce bulk.

I keep girly essentials on my desk like Lip Gloss and Lotion 1 or Lotion 2
but you could also use:
Flower Fan for when you get too warm
Flower bud organizer
Daisy Magnetic Paperclip Holder
Wall mounted flower pots THAT LOOK LIKE CLOUDS
Owl Magnets if you have metal somewhere
Mouse and pad
Badge holder if you need one my company has badges for the time clock even though we're an office
Post it!
Name plate

If you are coming from a 15” screen I think you will find the 10.5” positively tiny. It’s about half the size. The 10.5” can’t really do split screen except maybe if one of the windows is very narrow like a chat window. Certainly not textbook + notetaking.

The 12.9” iPad is a bit big to hold in your hands, but if you are using it with a keyboard, flat on a desk, or in an “easel” position (e.g. with the Smart Cover) it is fine. It’s about the size of a folio notebook.

This is the equivalent: http://www.amazon.com/Rhodia-Webnotebook-Black/dp/B0036Z4R46/ref=pd_sim_b_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1F4BBZAD9R1X4DEJGQ0M

Rhodia paper is far superior to Moleskine, as others have said. If you are in the US, you will find better selection fron Goulet, at least for Rhodia: http://www.gouletpens.com/Rhodia_Webnotebooks_s/54.htm

As an aside, I have found that moving to a 3.5x5.5 midori traveler clone setup, using Banditapple notebooks, has completely surpassed my experience with Moleskine-style books. If that style interests you, I would highly recommend it. Gives you the "my notebook" on a more permanent, refillable basis. There are lots of examples, but the basic idea is: http://imgur.com/a/3ti5u

In any event, hope that helps....

You need a decent quality pen and a small note pad. I managed a couple different restaurants for several years. While not exactly the same as a hotel, the goals for managers are the same: Provide a great guest experience while managing a diverse staff over several to many departments.

A reliable pen clipped onto a small notepad will keep you organized throughout the day. Department heads coming up to you with requests, reminders for orders or phone calls, something you see while walking around that needs attention, etc. I would jot it down on the first page on my notepad and then get to it when I had time. It will make you more efficient and it has certainly saved my ass on several occasions.

I could really use these.

u/lvl20dm · 4 pointsr/fountainpens

Yes, what others have said. I use Rhodia notepads. They are great, not expensive, and I can buy at a local stationary store (support the little brick and mortar guys!).

You might also want to experiment with a finer nib, if you don't like the line weight even after switching to paper with a tighter weave.

u/Shhannaan · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Are you feeling 22?

u/le_bravery · 2 pointsr/photography

Knowing how action photography can get, if OP is really going through with this, I would recommend the following:

  • Enough film (I have no idea how much, but make sure you have enough, and if possible, more than you think you'll be able to use).

  • 1 Canon AE-1 with 35mm lens.

  • 1 Canon AE-1 with 85mm lens.

  • 1 spare Canon AE-1 with a 50mm lens.

  • Rite in the Rain notebook. They have a pen available, too. Buy these. Use them. Even if you never shoot in the rain, you can spill coffee, soda, or whatever on these things and they will be fine. If it's sticky, just wash it off.

On any given day, carry two bodies. If one gets broken, then you've got the backup. If the 35 goes down, get the 50. If the 85 goes down, get the 50. It's the middle of the road lens.

Remember, at any time in any place, you can go from being a photographer to a bystander if your one camera breaks.

Be prepared, but I like /u/quesofrito's advice: Keep it simple. Focus on the subjects and the photos you're making more than the gear.
u/hyperblaster · 2 pointsr/fountainpens

The Dressco notebooks do look beautiful. Might be exactly what I'm looking for.

Is this the same as the Kikkerland WB811 notebook you linked? Says onion skin on the site, but not on amazon.

If you can link me to instructions for making durable notebooks myself, I can probably try that out. I'm guessing something fairly basic like folding A4 sheets in half and stapling the spine with cardstock as backing. Alternatively, could slice in half with an exacto knife and use a ring binder.

u/triceratops-X · 2 pointsr/MarioMaker

This is the best (dot matrix!)

Rhodia Wirebound Notepads - Dots 80 sheets - 6 x 8 1/4 in. - Black cover https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B9BWB0G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ld07Cb03YW81Y

u/lilmissRoja · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

paper made from animal poop

that's kinda funny. Creative though.

u/wilhelm_xD · 1 pointr/EDC

These work great I just peel the film off and put the apoxy side in the pocket of my wallet, it's been in there over a year, and it's not going anywhere.. check these out https://www.amazon.com/Elastic-Notebooks-Journals-Self-Adhesive-Assorted/dp/B07CVFX6DT

u/RoseSelkie · 13 pointsr/weddingplanning

Agreeing with everyone else saying that you should call them and ask if they are okay passive aggressively.

Though if you do the voodoo idea Amazon has this. (I may have been waiting a long time to post this)

u/9thSphere · 2 pointsr/Handwriting

Check out r/notebooks.

I'm mostly a Rhodia loyalist, so I would go for something like this, but if you don't like Mead & Five Star prices, that's not much better.

u/rockonrn · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Might i suggest this over murder?
