You should check out the 'shoot n see' or 'glow shot' targets. They're a bit more expensive and smaller but when they're hit, there is a florescent color under the black that makes them easy to tell where they've been hit.

Yes, they're more expensive, but if you really want to save money you can buy those circular file stickers and cover each hole individually.... I usually get around 40 shots thru mine before I need to change it out. Maybe more if you're a crummy shot and your hits are more spread out. (the middle starts looking like swiss cheese).
