Hey, I wrapped my car back in May and the result was quite nice IMO.
I'll basically copy/paste the advice from the thread about it:

Use a felt edge squeegee for actually applying the vinyl.
If you don't have a heat gun just use a hair dryer, which I'm sure like any other Miata driver, you own.
Just keep in mind that you basically have to sand the fuck out of the entire car and really well* to not have anything show up. The same rules about hiding dents/dings with paint apply to vinyl as well, as far as colors and sanding go.
