Are you mainly looking at 1080p monitors or is your PC beast enough to do 1440p? Cause 1440p looks better at 27”. And definitely wouldn’t go larger than 27” for 1080p.

But if you’re looking at 1080p, I’d go with this Acer Nitro series. It’s 144hz, has FreeSync, IPS panel so it has more vivid colors than TN, and highly rated. Also it’s got those thin bezels.

Well, its out of stock :(. But maybe they will supply it today. Very good deal. I found it on youtubers named Dawid Does tech stuff channel. You can check it out

Edit: i just realised its 27". :(

u/spicedpumpkins · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have both 144 and 240hz and NO ONE can tell the difference between the 144 and 240 but EVERYONE could tell the difference between TN vs IPS, obviously preferring the IPS.

Better to get a 144hz and IPS vs TN 240.

Refurb $250 very well reviewed. Acer Nitro VG271 Pbmiipx 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Monitor with AMD Radeon FREESYNC Technology, 144Hz, VESA Certified DisplayHDR400

u/gameguy32 · 2 pointsr/Monitors

while there ARE better TN monitors out compared to the VG248QE the difference would not really be worth upgrading too unless you went 1440P or a bigger screen size, but i would not really recommend going 1440p with your GTX 1060 unless you plan on upgrading your GPU as well, but if your looking to upgrade to a IPS panel the 27 inch Acer nitro VG271 would be a good option.

u/v0idspecialist · 2 pointsr/Monitors

Was using this as my main until I got a 240Hz but it's still my second. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-VG271-Pbmiipx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MDXF81K

I found this one it's not quite ultrawide but it is wider than a standard 16 by 9, its ips, 144hz, freesync and a good price

Two models out there:

Asus VG279Q https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5

Acer VG271 https://www.amazon.com/Acer-VG271-Pbmiipx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MDXF81K

I just picked up the Acer VG271 last week for $250 on Amazon and I am LOVING it. Until those 24" 1080p 144Hz IPS come out in who knows when, these two monitors are fantastic for a high refresh rate monitor that looks great without killing your video card.

u/VizricK · 1 pointr/PUBGConsole

I got the Acer 1080p IPS 144hz a few days after Prime day. Best upgrade to my Samsung Monitor from 08'.

Acer Nitro VG271 Pbmiipx 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Monitor with AMD Radeon FREESYNC Technology, 144Hz, VESA Certified DisplayHDR400, (2 x HDMI 2.0 Ports & 1 x Display Port) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MDXF81K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VmHRDb3QWZGJP

ASUS VG279Q 27" Full HD 1080p IPS 144Hz 1ms (MPRT) DP HDMI DVI Eye Care Gaming Monitor with FreeSync/Adaptive Sync https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXHTRT5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NoHRDbKA22BPF

There's a VG279qr version with 165hz but don't know it's a VA or IPS panel. The *Q is an IPS. Thereis an LG IPS compete with these. But I have not tried them.

----

I've tried both these monitors and at the time got them half the price that it is now but there are amazing for the price bracket. I keeped the Acer as it has speakers (not the best rarely use them) HDR, AMD freesync, HDMI 2.0x2 Displayport, Audio Jack, etc.

I do graphic design but also try and have one monitor on the desk so I try to get the best I can for all my devices. PC, XBOX, SWITCH. I've tried TN VA curve (curve monitors stretch your image in the last few inches and give a fish eye look to everything). I can't use them for longer than a few hr or days. There colors are shit washed out with whites and blacks just bleeding every where.

I was holding out for a long time on a 24inch monitor but this 27inch IPS monitor pixel density is not to bad. I would have gone with the 1440p version forn the best upgrade. But the fact that I play on a day one XB1. I couldn't really go for it. The Acer is still an amazing upgrade and future proofing for late next year's release of consoles.

u/confirmSuspicions · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I am just so tempted to get the 27 inch acer nitro, but I can't justify spending 250 $ 300-350 on a monitor this year. Good deal though imo. Not too sure how the price will change, but I like Amazon's free shipping too.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-VG271-Pbmiipx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MDXF81K

I got the 24 inch version though, since that is my preferred size normally.

edit: actually at 27 inches I would have to get the 4k version so add on 50 dollars to that. I'm not quite the tech snob needing the qhd version, but it's not even that much more at that point, lol. That's where it gets expensive if you actually want IPS. If you want another TN panel then I'd say you're better off pairing panels than getting 2 different TNs if that makes sense. Just my personal opinion.

u/dviad · 1 pointr/Monitors

This one. Probably going to pick it up to use as my main monitor.

I've seen people complaining about the ppi but I've been using a small 60hz monitor for close to 7 years. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

u/cha0ss0ldier · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

1080p 144 IPS panels exist.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MDXF81K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0DcZCb8W89X7P

Asus has one as well.

u/Acidinmyfridge · 1 pointr/buildapc

Would recommend these. They're good quality, durable, quiet, very decent airflow, decent price.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/M6vZxr/be-quiet-pure-wings-2-120-870-cfm-120mm-fan-bl039

If you can spend a bit more, go for the sleeved version (even more quiet)

As for a monitor, that would come down to personal preference i guess.I would recommend a 27inch 1080p 144hz IPS slim brezel/frameless monitor. You'll be able to play everything in ultra settings.Personally, i don't see that much of a difference between resolutions 1080p vs. 1440p, but FPS refresh rateis very noticeable between 60hz and 144hz. Obviously.

I'd recommend https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXHTRT5/ref=dp_cr_wdg_tit_nw_mr

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-VG271-Pbmiipx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MDXF81K/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=1080p+144hz+IPS+27+freesync&qid=1557326320&s=electronics&sr=1-9

The IPS panel is so so worth it, can pull long gaming sessions without any issues and eye straining at all.

I have a BenQ GW2780 IPS 1080p 75hz monitor, since i have no need for much higher FPS. But even with this monitor, games like pubg are a blast.

u/SoloDoloismybrolo · 1 pointr/Monitors

Like r/atcasual stated, you really never want to cheap out on a monitor. I would look into getting a GPU in the $200 dollar range. Then get a nice quality IPS 1080p 144hz monitor. You will get far better color reproduction(games look so much better, and superior features. I always recommend getting the monitor you want for the next 5 years and the GPU for the next 2-3 years.

While yes, you cant max out all games with this set up, in games like Overwatch, CSGO, Killing Floor 2, and many others you will be over 100fps. Then in more modern AAA games(depending) you will be at 60fps. Since, you stated you were more of a casual gamer, I assumed you dont care about hitting 144hz in every single title.

Acer Nitro VG271 Pbmiipx 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Monitor with AMD Radeon FREESYNC Technology, 144Hz, VESA Certified DisplayHDR400, (2 x HDMI 2.0 Ports & 1 x Display Port) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MDXF81K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_G95IDbEBFQ5PN

This is a very similar monitor. I picked it up for 209, but more commonly it’ll go 229-269. I was going to pick this LG up, but it went up to 329 when I finally decided to pull the trigger. In the end, I’m sure this is a great monitor, but I am very content with my Acer.

u/filofil · 1 pointr/PS4

Oh if you are going to plug your PC forget the 60hz. I would say go for one of these 1, 2

u/Foca_loca · 1 pointr/buildapc

Ok yeah wow probably, thanks for the link, I was originally thinking it would be great for 1440p but then I looked at monitors, and thought $300 for an IPS with higher frames was better than $300 for a TN with lower frames, but I don't really know.

Leaning towards IPS, but don't have very good eyesight so worried that it may be harder to see things in games with the darker blacks of the IPS compared to the washed out black of the TN panels. Just wanting to get some recommendations. Primary usage will be gaming and light work, don't plan on watching movies on this monitor. Games I'll be playing CSGO, PUBG, Insurgency Sandstorm
