You will basically end up with these. The 32in BenQ will work for what you listed. The 32in Asus is $226 more, but is top quality professional. If you want to splurge there is the Acer Predator. If you want a great 27in for the price, then there is the View Sonic.

I would go with 32in because why even go 4k if you aren't using 32in. The Acer and Asus are overkill (predator is for gaming/Asus professional photo editing). So that leaves you with the BenQ, which is perfect for what you want a 4k monitor for.

Sodoge wow 4k such pixel much money.

Well, I was surprised it wasn't already posted on this reddit, so I figured maybe 699 was a normal price and the 200 dollars off was misleading or something.

Anyways, when I was searching, 699 was the lowest I could find without looking at refurbished or used versions of this monitor. CamelCamelCamel has Amazon's lowest price at 760 dollars.

If you find a new one at 650, let me know, cause I'm actively monitor shopping right now.

Cheapest thing i've really found is this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O1B5M9I/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

If I decide I want G-sync over the 32 inches i'll go with one of these two
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWGY9MG/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018MYTF4W/ref=twister_B01I6XFSPY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Or, you know, somebody could recommend me something :/

I really doubt there's anything good for under $400 like I said in the OP but I can just save up a bit longer.

Thanks for the reply man! I run a Gtx 1080 with an i7-7700k. I was looking around and found this Acer predator if I was to bump my budget up a little would this be something to look into?

u/JDMYoshioka · 2 pointsr/Ice_Poseidon

If you play FPS/old games that can make use of the 200Hz then your monitor is probably the best money can buy.

If your not a TriHard at video games, want the best picture quality possible and want to flex your e-peen then go for the 4K monitor. The XB271HK is what people recommend. Only $860 on amazon which is surprisingly cheaper than the Z35 and will actually save you money if you do return it? (Don't know if they charge you for return fees)

u/redroverdover · 1 pointr/buildapc

Okay so here's the deal. You could essentially go for 4K 60 hz, or go for 2k 144hz. Unless you want to spend way more for a 4k 144hz monitor. But that's very pricey. From $700 to $1400, but the best ones definitely at the higher end. That's completely out of budget. At the same time, 1080p 60hz is terrible for us because we don't see any benefit from our 2080ti.

So we either want to go for frame rate at 2k, or 4k at a much lower frame rate of 60hz.

You will find most people choose frames. You will definitely see a huge difference. Your games will be 100hz and up at 1440p. You also want a gsync monitor for your Nvidia card.

So in your budget for best overall monitor I would choose:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06ZXZ3QBD/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

And here's the 4K 60 hz version

I think 27" is good desktop size monitor. Check this monitor. It's a 4k, IPS, GSync panel, it looks fantastic!

u/woowoo8473 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I found two from Acer and ASUS :)!

u/badillin · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I believe the Predator series are Acer Top of the line

It has 4ms response time, and only if you are a korean pro gamer or a machine wont notice unless its above 10-15ms So, id say it has no lag.

Also Amazon reviews are quite positive

A shitty 4k monitor isn't expensive, or a good monitor with gsync and decent color contrast isn't expensive? Don't even get me started with finding a monitor with HDR. Please let me know which one your actually talking about..

So if your a visuals guy, I’m a competitive player I play csgo, rust, and other FPs mostly so hz would be a must for me,

Here is the ideal 4K monitor that would be the best for you, (cons pretty expensive but it’s there best value since you get gsync of it)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018MYTF4W?tag=edit-tech-round-up-20&ascsubtag=8aa918dd-b250-47f8-ae0d-81477927eca8

Here is the cheap alternative which doesn’t have gsync but it won’t really affect you that much

You could also go to /r/buildapcsales they post sales for everything. Go on it daily and check for deals maybe you find something you like

I went through the whole new monitor decision making process recently.

1440p at 144hz with gysnc / Nsync is where you want to be, thing is the current panels aren't perfect.

You have a choice between TN (great refresher rate meh colors / viewing angles) or IPS (great colors 4ms - so not bad refresh rate, but possible IPS glow and quality issues).

I narrowed it down to Dell 2716dg, and although it's a great TN panel at 144hz / 1440p and gysnc (at a great price when on sale), thing is I had an IPS before and I simply couldn't tolerate color banding of a TN panel.

I ended up getting the Acer XB2711hk (and I won the IPS lottery, got a flawless one).

If your current monitor is working I'd recommend waiting a few months until the new wave of IPS (Samsung has some in the works) comes out.

It was for this card. The promo is listed down below in the "Special offers and product promotions" section.

The code came in an email with a link to eligible products. Monitors that it applies to are:

Acer Predator XB271HK

ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQ

LG 34UC89G-B

LG 32GK850G-B

It also looks like the code expires on the 31st.

u/freakingwilly · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

The 1080 ti handles 4k very well. As for the monitor, I'd recommend the Acer Predator. It's pricey, but it's one of the best 4k monitors on the market. If you are on a budget, Samsung makes a reasonably priced one as well.

Got one of these bad boys I am about to list. Brand new. Opened to test. Packed back up. No dead pixels or anything. Probably listing it tonight.
