I guess there are a number of versions out there, but it's fairly straightforward. There are three differently-titled releases:

  • Afro Samurai (the first)
  • Afro Samurai: Resurrection (what you have)
  • Afro Samurai: Murder Session (collection of the first two)

    Each of those has had three releases:

  • Edited / Original Aired
  • Uncut / Director's Cut
  • Blu-ray (which appear to be the uncut / director's cut version)

    I'm not really sure what the "volume 1" stuff is (it sounds familiar but I'm not sure why) but I'd guess you simply want this version.
