  • First, you may want to change waxers. Go to someone that knows how to deal with in-growns. Look for recommendations. I have been to multiple waxers and they are NOT all alike. Don't go to wax bar or a place that is turn-and-burn with their customers. I found a woman who is very good about waxing in a technique/angle that all but eliminates my in-growns -- every time I go to someone else, I get in-growns like clockwork and it takes me fucking three months to grow them out again. She also plucks my in-growns that are just beginning and is super thorough.

  • Second, try using Acnedote. It' s fucking amazing. Gentle, natural, and has a little bit of salicylic acid in it which will help get rid of bumps and ingrowns. Use it every day, even twice a day if you want. A topical benzoyl peroxide treatment may also help inflammation and help lighten the darkened skin.

  • Third, grow out a little bit more hair on your top triangle -- if you're up for it-- which lessens the amount of skin prone to in-growns (especially skin that is seen).

  • Fourth, don't fuck with your skin for at least 24-48 hours afterwards. Don't have sex, try to wear a loose skirt or at least not super tight jeans. Cotton panties if you have to, shower and use the scrub but gently. The less you mess with the skin while your pores are open the better. EVERY TIME I get waxed i want to immediately reap the reward and have hot slick canoodling, but resist the urge, i tell you. Resist.


    That's about it... I used to get cystic in-growns, huge bloody gross... like why I am I waxing if this is the result?? But with the right person, and with the acnedote and a little more care I've been able to all but eliminate them. Best of luck, fellow coarse-curly-pubic-haired person :)
