CR-200s are getting pretty old and are prone to several common failures so it would be a risky move. If you have it hopefully you can deal with the tiny screen, we had to use a stylus on ours, no regrets the day it blew smoke and died.

I went for a bit more expensive Android tablet, looking for longer support times. I picked up a Samsung that was on sale at Costco. It is an excellent option with a 7" screen, big enough for our fat fingers and blurry eyes.

Added a stand and a magnetic power cable and it is easily portable or left sitting as a Sonos status display.

(Disclaimer: This post assumes no hardware defects with either unit; plenty of people have been reporting problems with the Surface Pro 2017 and the Surface Pen being used together, see this sticky. As far as I know the SB2 doesn't have this issue.)

I'd personally give the edge for drawing to the Surface Pro just for the kickstand. You can kind of get the same thing by reversing the Clipboard and propping up the Book in the same way but it's not quite as stable and takes up more space. Of course since the i5 model doesn't have the dGPU in the base you can just as easily detach the Clipboard and prop it up on something like this. If you typically draw with the tablet flat/near flat on the table though it's a moot point as either will do.

I don't have enough experience typing on the Surface Book to say which is better but I love typing using the Type Cover on my Pro 4. The scissor switch keys have just enough travel, the layout is much better spaced that previous Type Covers, and the magnets holding it at an angle let you choose between the incline or flat orientation (the flat is more comfortable than you'd think). With the Surface Book of course you'll get a more traditional typing experience, including it being much more "lapable".

Finally, if you're willing to drop down to the 128GB SSD on the Book you can actually get it cheaper than the equivalent Surface Pro ($1,199 vs $1,299), whereas with the Pro you'll want to factor in the cost of the Type Cover (pretty much a necessity) which will put it at ~$1,430 USD.

This one. Are you using the wireless TKL Filco? Sounds like a sweet setup either way.
