I haven't tried this particular monitor, but if you're okay with a curved monitor there is an AOC monitor with similar specs for the same price that was recently reviewed by LTT that is a good choice. I had tried the AOC and definitely recommend for the price.

I recently got my hands on the AOC CQ27G1. 27", 1440p, 144hz, VA panel. $250. Without considering the price, this monitor is great. With considering price, this monitor is fucking amazing.

u/skai762 · 2 pointsr/nfl

I've been eyeing this and this

The first one is what I'll probably get when it goes back down to that 250 range. Especially if Best Buy keeps the $50 Gift Card with it.

u/FourKindsOfRice · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yeah I jumped on that one vs. the XT cause it was like $100-150 less. I understand it can be flashed to operate at closer to an XT level and maintain decent thermals.

I have this monitor on order but it's not yet shipped. Having second thoughts on VA and such. Not too sure what's best for my use case but it seems like probably IPS.

u/The_Worst_Case · 1 pointr/buildapc

AOC CQ27G1

I can vouch for this one. I came from a 5 ms, 60hz, 24" IPS panel to this and am very happy with my purchase for $250. (G-Sync works just fine on my 2070 Super)

u/ITKnight57 · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

if that were the case, I would personally get two of these monitors:

u/3StoneBlue · 1 pointr/buildapc

Currently trying to decide between two 1440p 144hz monitors.

The VIOTEK seems to be the better choice, at less of a cost, includes crosshairs(?), and speakers (I know this is useless, but I currently only use headphones, so it would be nice to have some, even shitty ones.) The AOC is a brand I know, and according to CamelCamelCamel it's at a good price for what it could be right now.

Any opinions?

Check out this one from AOC. Their 24" 1080p 144Hz one, the AOC C24G1, got rave reviews, so I was disappointed to find out that they didn't have a 27" 1440p 144Hz one. Ultimately I went with the Dell S2719DGF. But that was a couple of months ago, and it looks like AOC finally came out with the aforementioned model. Smashing price.

u/tehmack2009 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I think this is a VA, correct? Would this be a good fit for that GPU?

Seems to be sold out everywhere, though. Try to find a sale.

And yes, you should OC, free performance. For the CPU you can auto OC using Ryzen Master, GPU can be OCed with MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision X1.

this AOC monitor that jist came out recently is getting a bunch of good reviews and is $279.

i have the msi optix mag27cq and have really liked it. i got it off massdrop a year or so ago for $379, and since they updated that line to the mpg27cq, the mag seems to hover around that $370-something price point fairly often.

i have an old 1080p, 60hz monitor from when i first got my pc that i use as my second monitor, but im thinking I'll probably upgrade it to that AOC one at some point.

u/RidexSDS · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Take a look at AOC. I got their 32" 1440p 144hz 1ms curved monitor for $329. Amazing monitor and an amazing deal. I was skeptical of the brand at first but after a lot of research they are great and are becoming very highly regarded. Asus and MSI's monitor offerings are just flat out overpriced at this point.

The 27" version is $279 and has the exact same specs of the MSI monitor you had picked. It also has better reviews.

u/-BichLasagna- · 0 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

There's another great deal for anyone looking at 1440p 144hz monitors here. The screen is smaller (more pixel density), the brightness is lower and the response time is faster. All for $60 less than the one in the post and it isn't even on sale.

u/FrozenPhoton · -3 pointsr/buildapcsales

Ehh, 24" is kinda small for 1440p, Also TN which I'm not a fan of.

Much about monitor choice boils down to personal preference. For example the CQ27G1 is only $240 on amazon rn and is larger, VA for deeper blacks, and curved (which I prefer).
