Not sure your budget but I love these and they were a gift from my mother for Christmas. I had no idea how much I would love ditching the cable, and the portable charger box is super nice. I don't have a headset with bluetooth audio so for long flights across the country, sometimes I will put these in my ears and then put my headset over them so I can listen to music at low volumes while still being able to hear the other pilot and ATC talk. They stay in my ears really well when running or mountain biking too.


A cheaper idea would be a vacuum insulated water bottle like this. I've had mine for 3 or 4 years now and its held up amazingly. Reduces waste, doesn't taste like metal, and keeps drinks hot or cold for a very long time.


My favorite things to give these days are experiences. No one really needs more shit. Take him on a pub crawl somewhere cool, or get outside for a hike or ride or something and follow it up with a really good lunch and beer somewhere. Just my two cents.
