I'm a big fan of Clinique for men but its kinda expensive.
But I found that Aveeno works almost as well and is cheaper.
Both have no scent and leave a pretty matt finish, I also have issues with oily skin but these products work for me
I've never had any luck with medications or birth control, but recently I've hit on some things that helped. I still have some pretty bad scars on my face, but any improvement makes me happy.
-I started using Aveeno's Clear Complexion Moisturizer after cleansing. This was actually the product that started improving my skin, and got me thinking it was possible.
-I started getting really strict with myself about scrubbing my face every morning and every night. It was something I used to be really slack about, because I was convinced nothing could help my acne, but it worked.
-I started using a little blackhead massage pad (The link is a review of one with a lot of pictures). I usually squirt some cleanser onto it and scrub it onto my face for a minute or two. I received mine as a gift, so I have no clue where you could pick one up.
I see a LOT of talk online praising AHA/BHA cleansers -- products that contain Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acid. The acids in the cleansers are supposed to remove dead skin from your face, which in turn reduces the severity of acne scars. In particular, I've seen Alpha Hydrox's Souffle praised up a lot, but I've never tried it personally. I have been using Neostrara's Skin Renewal Peel Solution, which contains 10% AHA, but I admit, I haven't been impressed with the results so far.
Don't be afraid to check other sites online! A lot of makeup website (Such as Makeup Alley) contain user-submitted reviews of skincare products, and I believe Acne.org has a pretty active community message board where folks offer their input on what products have worked for them. Good luck!
