This isn't really a bad experience with a celebrity, but a bad reaction from a haggard old bitch of a teacher when I told her about it.
When I was in the 4th grade, I met Ollie North and Scott O'grady (Basher 5-2, fighter pilot who was shot down in Bosnia) on a cruise in the Caribbean.
I had recently read Captain O'Grady's book, and happened to have it on the Cruise with me. I got them both to autograph it.
When I told the teacher of my 4th grade class about it back at school the next week, she said "That's nothing you should be proud of." Because she didn't agree with Ollie North's politics.
Seriously, who the fuck says that to a fourth grader?

"U.S. Air Force Captain Scott O'Grady was shot down in his F-16 over Bosnia while helping to keep the peace. The plane exploded, and Captain O'Grady fell 5 miles to the ground below. In exciting detail, Captain O'Grady tells how he evaded capture and how, with little water and no food, he was able to survive on his own in enemy territory."
Basher 52, read it years ago and it was simple, but had a beautiful simplicity about it. Well worth seeing if you can find. I think this will work.
