I was thinking about picking up this monitor https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00RORBPEW/ref=aw_wl_ov_dp_1_1?colid=1W1L2XSJH2QFF&coliid=I2NV00SL1O7B12 how would it be for ps4pro? Also would it be good for my pc? I have a gtx970. Any advice appreciated. Cheers.

Cool, personally I'd recommend the BenQ. This is the one I have:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RORBPEW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm sure the 24" would be a good choice as well if you don't want something so huge.

The stats for gaming are all fine - good response times, good input lag according to the reviews. I play Starcraft 2 on mine.

They just don't have the latest gaming specs - no freesync or gsync, no 144khz, 4 or 5ms response time (ips) rather than 1-2ms (tn). They're also "business boring" lookswise, they're not sexy looking like some monitors are.

But I literally have 3 other monitors sitting in my room that I'm sending back, the BenQ was clearly the best for me for clarity and eye fatigue.

I've been in the market for a similar monitor for some time and just pulled the trigger on the BenQ BL2711U. I do design / photography / gaming and it's been hard to find something that seems like it will work well for all these use cases. I like this one because it's supposed to have great color accuracy, has hdmi 2.0 (for xbone @ 4k you need hdmi 2.0), and decently small input lag. I haven't received the monitor yet, but I'm eagerly waiting.

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-BL2711U-27-Inch-Monitor-3840x2160/dp/B00RORBPEW what do you think of this monitor? It's a professional monitor. I would be using it for xbox one gaming & Web browsing. Good purchase?

Just so you know there are not many options on 4k Monitors (and when we talk about Monitors we talk abou 27" or 32")

After that you are going for a 4k TV (43" +)

Here are two Monitors:

https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-27-Inch-Definition-BL2711U-3840x2160/dp/B00RORBPEW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541009189&sr=8-1&keywords=BenQ+BL2711U

https://www.amazon.ca/LG-27UD58P-B-Free-Sync-Monitor-Response/dp/B0719FQ3DD/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541009165&sr=8-1&keywords=LG+27UD58P-B

--------------------------------------

The BENQ is pretty good I own it myself.

I got to let you know though that 4k on a Monitor is kinda rare, and alot more expensive when it's done properly (the most popular 4k Monitors are around 1k$) Not to say that those monitors that I mentioned are not good, but they won't have the amazing specs of a 500$ monitors. they will cut some of the cool specs to add the 4k Tag.

-------------------------------

If you insist on the 4k Monitor , you can get one for around 500-600$, but you can also get a 4k TV (43") for about the same price.

These are probably around the absolute best you can get based on your needs/budget.

Both of these are IPS/4K and in the $400 bracket. If It was me I'd go with the Ben Q

Hmm ok, if I buy this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-32-Inch-Definition-BL3201PH-3840x2160/dp/B00RORBPEW

To replace 2x of the 4K monitors, then I will have enough money in the budget for Titan XP lol, what do you think?

EDIT: it would be smart to buy a 1070 or 1060, and wait for the 1080 Ti though.

Dell S2817Q for a cheaper TN monitor with low response time.

BenQ BL2711U or Dell P2715Q for an IPS monitor.

Hi. These computer recommendations are fine, /u/deathaddict 's is pretty solid, though i'd spec 64GB of RAM

That being said, I don't like the monitor choices presented. One of the suggestions here isn't even an IPS monitor, that's bad. I would suggest not using an Asus monitor for editing. Dell or LG make fantastic work station and editing monitors that are much nicer to use than Asus.

I'm not sure how serious you are about editing, if you're professional or not. When it comes to computers i'm a fan of overkill in the build, so if you can swing it the LG 31MU97 is the best you can do on a reasonable budget. Full Adobe RGB and sRGB coverage along with 97% of the DCI-P3 colorspace. Though it is not good for gaming.

I am also a fan of the LG 27UD88-W if you need something cheaper and also want to game consistently.

Even less expensive is the Dell P2715Q, this one is only 8bit but it does a great job in the price range. I use one for my photo work, which is web based so it's fine for me. If I were printing I would buy something better, and 10bit.

I havent used it, but the BenQ BL2711U is apparently very good for its price, too.
Hope this helps!

EDIT:

After some reading the The Asus PB279Q listed in a comment looks good on paper, actually. But I have yet to use an Asus display that didn't have a weird mesh sheen inside of the panel, it's tough to describe. It really messes up the way whites look and i'm not a fan. Maybe this one doesn't have that, but I can't be sure.

I would recommend seeking out computer stores that have the monitors i've listed in this post and looking at them before you buy. That's the easiest way to make an informed decision!

If you're referring to this one: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-BL2711U-27-Inch-Monitor-3840x2160/dp/B00RORBPEW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526095664&sr=8-1&keywords=bl2711u

Then nope! If you're interested, please feel free to make an offer. I'm relatively open.

I'm a designer working in similar software plus video and was looking to buy my first quality monitor last year. For me, I needed the best color accuracy possible and found that IPS displays were the best for that. I also found there's a lot of marketing mumbo jumbo these companies will try to sell you with - 'contrast ratio' for example, every company has a different way of measuring it, making it almost meaningless. I also looked for a monitor that came pre-calibrated for color accuracy although you can buy a calibrator and do it yourself for ~$100. Ultimately I decided on this monitor and it's been great. I'de recommend deciding what's the top 1-2 things you need your monitor to be great at, finding the technology that supports those things, then finding the monitor with that tech in your price range.
