Haha aren't they great? Headphones are a big part of my life (not really, they're just my favorite things in the world) so why not let them rest like they deserve?

  • Brainwaz - $33 on Amazon (what! they used to be $25!)
  • Audio Technica - 3700 Yen (costs more in US, $48)
  • The AKG one came with the K701
  • The metal one is a customized creation from a world renown artist/sculptor

I screwed a piece of wood onto a broken trick deck.

I was about to buy this Brainwavz stand before I got the broken deck from my mate. It's cheap and it supports the headphone across the entire band, I was afraid that all the cheaper ones that had hooks would destroy the headband of my cans.

> P.S I know what yall are thinking, this is some rich fat kid that sits on his ass all day and needs everything perfect.

Didn't cross my mind at all but thanks for clarifying anyways. Had me worried.

Take your pick.

They're Omega-style stands. Mine is a knockoff that I ordered from Massdrop. Here's a more affordable+available one.

These Brainwavz Peridot Stands are the best in terms of affordability and fit imo.

Don't get the cheap knockoffs on Aliexpress, they tend to be a smaller in size so the bigger full size headphones won't fit as nicely

Just plug 'em in and play.

Treble too much? put a pair of treats in em. Still too much? put in another pair.

Try to store them in such a way that the earpads are flat. I really like this stand, for instance. No biggie though.

Other than that, don't worry too much. Just enjoy. :) I have the same setup at work!

Almost the same thing, but the on in the picture has text on it which means it's probably this.

Amazon sells 'em as does Massdrop.

No, but I read good things about it when that controversy about the knockoffs and how Amazon wasn't doing enough (to keep them separate, let alone put a stop to it) cropped up a little while ago. I think there was a thread about it here, but it got around the tech news cycle. I almost bought one on principle to support a small business...

If I had any high shelves near my desk I'd probably have one as it would be ideal, there's not much in the way of furniture near my desk but another desk (in L or perpendicular, but not right next to each other) and a small file cabinet w/two drawers atop of which sits my PC desktop (cube case, Corsair Air 540). With one exception they're all display-like desk stands.

I started off with a not-inexpensive (like $30?) hand towel holder from Crate & Barrel, the darn thing is supposed to be stainless steel and made for bathrooms and it still has a little bit of rust, bleh... Looks nice and works but the center arm slips in between the headband cushions of the HD 600 so that stand got repurposed before long. I think it's holding actual towels now at my parent's.

Atop my PC I have the Silverstone one, it's priced kinda ridiculous (tho I got it a bit cheaper) but it is solid as heck. I seldom exaggerate build quality just because something is metal, but this is made out of thick chunks of aluminum. I didn't really get it because of that tho, I just thought the shape of the top arm and the fact that it has space for 2 headphones was ideal, and so I have my HD6XX & gaming headphones on it.

I tried maybe 1-2 other ones that have since disappeared from Amazon and from my place, and an Omega style (but a solid block) wood one from Massdrop which I didn't like much (the finish wasn't as nice as depicted but not terrible enough to return). I had the Brainwavz acrylic one in the shape of the Omegas too, I keep it around for photos or something. (it was cheap tho, I dunno what the current vendor is thinking)

Currently still in use there's the elago which does look pretty stylish but might be even more overpriced than the Silverstone tbh (the latter is way sturdier, the elago does come assembled tho), it's on my nightstand for whatever makes it's way there (holding E-MU/CAL PHs atm).

The other one still in use and my most recent purchase is this Jokitech, actually ended up getting two of them, I think this is one of the better values as far as minimalist metal stands... And the top portion easily has the best shape of all (maybe a tie with the Silverstone which will more easily accommodate really large headbands). It's well cushioned and will be gentler on headband padding than most things I've seen.

Those are holding my HD 600 & PM-3 in the living room... I also have a clamp style stand on the secondary desk, mostly for temporary use since the amp is on the main desk. It has the same kinda pleather padding as the Jokitech (just less of it), I think Sennheiser actually used to sell the very same stand under their name.

Pretty sure that adds up to more stands than headphones (even if I were to pull out my XS from their case and some old/unused headphone out)... Like I said, do as I say and not as I do kids! Get you some wood, some skills, and make a stand for $10 like ishca.
