I leave my stone at the bottom of our gas oven at all times, never had a problem. Heats more evenly, but adds at least 10 minutes to pre-heat time compared to normal. No problem, I only use my oven for making home made pizza. Baked chicken, roasted veggies, casseroles, etc. all happen in my toaster oven anyway.

By the way, I never knew I would love a toaster oven as much as I do, and I never thought I would use it every day, but I do. This is the one I have and it's amazing, lots more baked dishes, helps us eat healthier at home, and it preheats in like 90 seconds!!!! -->

That one is much bigger than the panasonic. Might be better to compare it to the mini version of the same breville smart oven, which is only 150 and comparable size.

I honestly don't know, for that price point. Over the course of a couple years, I had several toasters ovens that cost between $50 and $80 barely work at all, break, or actually catch fire. I only found one that seems to work really well and haven't heard anyone having problems, and it's this Breville. Out of your price range, but I really think it's likely to last a lot longer than an 80 dollar one.

Good luck! You might just end up having a lot better luck than I had. Maybe those toasters weren't all crap and I just kept getting lemons, haha.

Do you have a food processor? I love my Cuisinart 14 cup.

Also, a Breville toaster oven. They sell a larger countertop convection oven, but it was more than we needed. We bought [this one four years ago] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006CVVA7I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YzTXAbSGDBXGB) and absolutely love it.

We got this one when we got married 4 years ago, and it's still going strong after almost daily use. We live in a small apartment and are generally cooking for 2, so it's the perfect size for us.

It gets hot, but that's what toaster ovens are supposed to do. Not sure what other safety concerns there might be?
