    Features:
  • Hide your phone from trackers, hackers, and thieves with this HideCell cell phone bag, a Faraday cage environment that blocks cell, WiFi, and GPS signals. Inside, the HideCell bag features anti-static padding, helping protect your phone from damaging impacts and static shocks.
  • QuadShield: Blocks 65 to 70 dB of signal, stopping up to FOUR TIMES THE LEGAL MAXIMUM CELL SIGNAL. QuadShield combines copper, nickel, and conductive acrylic into a strong, lightweight ripstop fabric. Cell towers can broadcast up to 500 watts of directional radio signal, blasting through cheaper cell phone blocking cases. Your privacy deserves our 65 dB of signal blocking strength.
  • Size: Fits standard size cell phones, up to 2.75" wide x 5.5" tall.
  • Faraday Cages are NOT all the same. This is NOT a cheap black bag imported from China, which can leave you exposed instead of protected. HideCell bags are made in America and provide exceptional shielding, designed for people serious about blocking signals and RF radiation. Each Faraday cage blocks a different amount of signal, measured in decibels (dB). Check competitors for a decibel rating (dB). If they don't list the signal blocking in dB, they are hiding key information. Additionally, evaluate the quality of the bag and the reliability of the claims. Contact us if you have any questions.
  • If you are concerned about electromagnetic radiation, HideCell's 65 dB of shielding blocks your cell phone's transmission signal.

Assuming you're looking for a lav with a 3.5mm output, you have at least one other quality option in your price range [Referral Links]:

The [$35 Bronstein LM 15 Omni Lav] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZB9XY4/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00EZB9XY4&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) you linked to is pretty good:

Frequency response: 20 - 20,000 Hz
Sensitivity:-47dB+/-2dB
Signal to noise ratio: >58dB
3 feet of cable

But the [$47 Giant Squid Audio Lab Omni Lav] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HWMG44U/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00HWMG44U&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) is a little better:

Frequency response: 20 - 20,000 Hz
Sensitivity: -35dB+/-4 dB
Signal to noise ratio >62dB
6 feet of Cable

Either of these mics will do the job - but you may want to consider spending the extra $12 for the Giant Squid.

Hope this is helpful, good luck with your doc - and Happy New Year!

An inexpensive way to do this is with a [$58 AZDEN CAM-3 On-Camcorder Mini Audio Mixer] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006JPD1/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00006JPD1&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20).

The better way to do this is with three [$20 Bronstein low noise lavs] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZB9XY4/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00EZB9XY4&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20), three [$4 mono to stereo adapters] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O7AW98/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000O7AW98&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-2), three [$10 Rode 3.5mm to XLR adapters] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y021NA/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000Y021NA&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) and a low noise premplifier/mixer that will get rid of the noise in your T3's preamps - such as the [$429 JuicedLink Riggy Assist RA333] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DXCKLI/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B008DXCKLI&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20).

Without a separate preamp that disables your T3i's automatic gain control, your soundtrack is likely to have audible noise - especially when your interviewees are not speaking.

Good luck!

Hi /u/jennaow - you're right, a lapel mic is what you need. The best lapel mic [below $300 is the Rode Lav] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Z8OUUA/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B003Z8OUUA&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20). You'll need a [$28 adapter] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005Y0VS5M/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B005Y0VS5M&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) to plug it into your H4n's XLR jack.

If that exceeds your budget, the next best choice is the [$51 Giant Squid Lav] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HWMG44U/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00HWMG44U&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) with its 20-20,000Hz frequency response. You'll need a [$4 1/4" to 1/8" adapter] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002NV2K20/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002NV2K20&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) to plug it into your H4n.

Below $50, the next decent option is the [$35 Bronstein LM-15 with noise reduction] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZB9XY4/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00EZB9XY4&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20). You'll need the same $4 adapter, though. This is a great mic for the price.

Whatever you do, don't get the [Audio Technica ATR3550] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HJ9PTO/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002HJ9PTO&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20)

Hope this is helpful!
