That bulb comes in a range of wattages. Most people seem to do fine with with normal spot lights, or halogens. I'm switching to halogen with my next replacement.

Bulb and fixture i'm using. Given that 40 gallons is a bit small for an adult, this will probably do fine until you get his adult setup.
Just going to point out a few things, enclosure is a bit too small... it is fine for now but make sure you get at least a 75 gallon or 4x2x2 soon as that is the preferred minimum for full grown bearded dragon. The stick on temperature gauge does not work at all so you will need to get a temp gun or a digital temperature gauge with a probe.
The UVB light is also useless so you'll need to get a new one.
