I’ve tried the chemical way also, but none really works great and safe than glue traps. You have to place them where they lurk or you think where they are. Don’t just throw them out when there’s a few make sure you get a lot in there. While they’re still alive they get the others to lurk around the same area so you end up trapping more.
Don’t get them from the hardware store because it’ll cost more.

These might do. These things will last you for awhile and hopefully it’s a cheap solution to the problem. It really does stop them and traps them. I’ve done both folded and non-folded. I’ve also placed them in cabinet walls by sticking them using tape.
My company uses Victor traps.

We use catch master for glue boards
And for multi catch we use basically little Pete’s
Make sure to MASS trap in the area that you notice the most droppings. We typically use 25-50 depending.
The sooner you catch the mouse the easier it is. They have neophobia and learn their surroundings quickly. They will be hesitant of any new things in their environment.
