When things are atypical, they are not foreign.
In this case, the sensory needs of people with autism are not different, just exaggerations of existing needs in people without autism.
Our sense of space, of our body, of whether we belong are all tied into nerves which periodically check. The consistent feedback of a weighted blanket or the gentle hug of a bodysock are things that we all can enjoy and receive benefit from.
