Do you use 3400k in the daytime, if so, then turn on a damn decent LED or Incandescent light in your room.

I assume you don't have windows (the glass kind, not the system) in your room, because you'd see how yellow your screen is.

If you need a decent light, either get a 100 (or if your socket can handle the heat - 200) watt light bulb, or a really bright 5000K (the K is for Kelvin not thousand) color temperature LED bulb of comparable or higher brightness.

For 100 watt brightness equivalent, that's 1,750 lumens.
For 200 watt brightness equivalent, that's (you'll need two bulbs to match this) it's a staggering 3,405 lumens!

250-300w equivalent LED bulb
It says in the title that it puts out 4321 Lumens, but in the description in the middle of the page, it says 3,700 which I think is more accurate.

DO NOT buy this light. It's not reliable. I'm just posting this here to show that bright light from LED bulbs just might be happening!

Get a few of these bulbs they are a warm 2700k white, and 1,700 or so lumens.

If you'd like the "daylight" 5000K version, Cree made that, but I really thought Philips would have one too, but here's the Cree 100w

Enjoy! Also have you tried darkroom mode?
Also, you can go WAY below 3400k, drag your slider to the far left for night time, and choose "expand color range". You'll have to restart but it's so worth it.

I've spoken to numerous horticulturists about this, because the conflicting information was driving me crazy. The consensus was that the multicolored LED fixtures are mostly a marketing gimmick. It is based on some truth, but for the power levels and expectations of a home gardener, it misses the point.

Your best bet is to go with a high-power "white" bulb; whether that's flourescent (cheap/easy), LED (compact/cool/efficient), or HPS (heavy duty).

I might add a caveat to what /u/SilverWattle said about how many lights you need. Sometimes people underestimate how much light is needed, depending on the bulb they bought. E.g. one T5 bulb would be plenty, but only if you have your plants <1ft away from the lamp. This little guy is actually a total beast, considering how little space it takes up. It's really about lumens and coverage area.
