FWIW, a getup like that is pretty bound to leak, and he's not wrong that this will cause staining. More than that, if it continues for a longer period of time it will affect the integrity of the ceiling depending on how it was constructed.

The reason why I don't want to change the hose is because this is an extension that secures to the water tap in a British household (link to product). British houses are known for the outdated design of separate hot and cold taps, even more so that these taps are for my bath tub which has no shower head. That's why I bought this product to mix the hot and cold water and let it flow from the shower head. Getting a new hose means practically replacing the whole thing and buying a new product from Amazon.
