It's worth every penny and you should absolutely not party without hearing protection. And actually the sound gets a lot better, when you got used to wearing them.

Volume in Berlin clubs in generally peaking at about 105 dB(A) so somewhere between a jackhammer and a starting jet. You should opt for 20+ db(A) protection, because 85 db(A) is the point where permanet hearing damage will occur.

I recommend these, Senner plugs. Only £20.00GBP, and fit what your request. I don't play piccolo, but for Flute, and Accordion, they are great, they really do just reduce the volume, but keep the quality, once they're in, I barely notice them, despite my small ears, and they're not too observable, and would be wearable in class, or at a concert. They're good for both highs, and lows. And you can still hear conversation, I use them in all sorts of situations other than music too; such as at the theater, or studying. best I know of under $30USD, with case included.

Ich hab mir Ohrstöpsel von Senner bestellt, weil ich ab und zu auf Konzerte gehe und später keine Probleme mit meinem Gehört deswegen bekommen will und es hinterher auch teilweise einfach unangenehm ist.

Das erste mal hat es mich ein bisschen gestört bzw. hatte ich das Gefühl, ich verpasse was vom Sound (kann aber auch an der Band gelegen haben) und als ich sie dann rausgenommen hab, kam mir die Pausenmusik schon laut vor, das macht also schon einen Unterschied.

Mittlerweile lasse ich sie das ganze Konzert über drin und bin auch echt zufrieden. Macht alles viel angenehmer. Bei mir hat sich der Kauf schon gelohnt.

Auf Festivals war ich noch nicht wirklich, also keine Ahnung, ob die da auch notwendig sind, aber schaden tun sie sicher nicht.
