I really hope some of you try this - it will blow your mind. It solves the audio problem completely and super effectively. All of the instructions are in the Imgur post.

I am also using the Bionik Mantis headphones originally made for the PSVR but they will clip onto the Rift S halo just fine (with some slight modification). I painted mine black using an enamel marker. Photos linked below...

Additional tips:

  3. If you are not using a good EQ for your windows devices, get the free APO equalizer app and you can tweak the headphone sounds even more. https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/

    Overall they do not sound as good as the original Rift, but much better than the built in open air headphones. Plus the convenience of having them mounted on the headset is great.
