I wouldn't do anything until you've heard from her. I've shared classrooms before (I rotated classrooms my first two years teaching). Some teachers will give up space, others won't. It's doubtful you'll be reimbursed - that's fairly rare in teaching - so don't spend any money you can't afford.
I'd buy a good size tote-case with wheels, if you can (something like this)
, it's compact and can fit in the corner of the classroom, and you can take it home on weekends or evenings when you need to grade.
