I have one similar to the red one they said was hard to clean. Honestly I love it, it's the best pet hair picker-upper I've ever used. I have this one. Though, I've used it only on blankets and sheets, not stairs or anything like that.
there are permanent ones that i find work better than the tape option

I would suggest this type of lint brush. IME they get more fur/lint off your clothes than the sticky ones, and they're basically infinitely reusable.
I really like these brush kinds, but I don't favor a particular brand as long as they're double sided. Although, since they're usually unidirectional, I have seen one that allows you to flip the brush pad so you can brush both ways.
