I said cheaper, not better. I have the 250 gts 1gb and it's ok but it'll never be GREAT. My upgrade, and the op SHOULD do this, is a 460 (the 5xx geforce series seems to run a bit hot, even if the performance is great) or wait for the 6xx series to come out and nVidia partners to make the 5xx series better.
But if op wanted an upgrade right now, you can get the 8800 gt or gtx for cheap (GTS even cheaper, like this : http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-8800GTS-PCIe-Video/dp/B000KFWFHG ) but that's just going to be a bare minimum upgrade. The OP SHOULD go higher.
Edit : I upvoted tobyreddit for good advice. The provided link is a 50-80 dollar upgrade. Dirt cheap to get acceptable, but not great, performance now and save up for a GOOD video card later. $100 is a bit tight. But this 450GTS fits with the gift card.
