I double sleeve all my decks, but it's probably worth mentioning I only play Modern or Legacy so the decks are typically higher value. I might not bother doubling on a standard deck.

One word of caution with regard to storage: be wary of fire-proof safes. They often have a wet clay in the walls of the safe, and if you don't leave it open some portion of the time to avoid moisture accumulation it will ruin your cards.

I keep my cards in binders and deck boxes inside one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001UHO4Z4/

It's a discontinued model now but it's done the job well and I haven't had any issues with the cards being left inside for a month or more at a time.
