Only drawback is that you have to periodically replace the zipties, they get stretched out and the lights can then shift slightly. But zipties are cheap.
Rather than mount one permanently on my helmet, I use a headlamp like this that I put on it. Easy on, easy off, and if you fall on your head you want something that breaks away from the helmet easily (if it stays on, it can get caught on the ground and put additional twist strain on your neck).
