Another short woman with minimal hand strength here. Take a look at these (or something similar):

Interestingly, they have rather low ratings on AZ, but of all the different clamps at my gym (at least three different kinds), these are my absolute favorites. The snap ones are a distant second (that snap you hear is my fingernails breaking off). The metal squeezy clips? Can't EVEN do them.

A friend at the gym bought her own pair and superglued glittery stars on 'em. Love it!
