We have the same build with a few differences. I'm going with the Inwin 101 ATX Case (Black). Z370P motherboard and a Cryorig Cooler.

Would you recommend your motherboard and cooler? Or does it make no difference which I choose?

Awesome, thanks. What else do you have in your setup, I'm trying to decide on CPU etc. Currently looking at a cheap coffee lake motherboard with plenty of slots https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077Y5JBQ5/ref=ox_sc_act_title_8?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 and a 300 series Celeron. It's been a while since I bought any kit and it will probably be a while till I do it again, so I want to make sure I can upgrade it, or use it for something else if the bottom drops out of the crypto market.

Z370P D3 cheapest there is.

At minimum don't forget to go into the BIOS and enable XMP profile on RAM so the RAM actually runs at the speed it is rated at.

You make a good point. I'm just going off my experience shopping around online at Amazon and NewEgg. It seems that if you want a competent motherboard compatible with popular processors, a micro-atx board may only set you back $55. I just recently got a deal on this motherboard from Amazon for $100:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077Y5JBQ5/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_9?smid=A1PYB0QXU6SOEO&psc=1

I got it for compatibility with 8th gen intel processors.

The back panel usb 3.1 is whatever, since it's backwards compatible, what I'm confused about is the mobo's headers (io i believe it's called?) not sure if the 3.1 headers will connect to the case's 2.0/3.0 usbs.

the intel stock cooler is fine for the 8400 lmao. Absolutely no reason to replace it. I have one its basically silent too.

Also you said $250 not 250 euro.

How good is this pcie cards' WLAN compared to that of this mainboard assuming that your router is in the same room?

I need a WIFI solution because I plan to build a hackintosh so I'm mainly interested whether any of these things is going to be significantly worse than the other at any of the MAC OS features that require WLAN like airdrop or handoff.

Is it this one?

I get a notification that this motherboard is not compatible with the case

Thanks for your help. I was looking at this because I'm not really gaming on it, it's for video editing. I just don't know which ddr4 is compatible (unless they all are??). It says non-ecc unbuffered ddr4 ram

[This board ](GIGABYTE Z370P D3 (Intel LGA1151/... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077Y5JBQ5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)

Coupled with i7 8700k.

It comes standard at 2800mhz and moved it to the 3200mhz. Ezpz. Maybe OC is a misstatement but it goes to 3200mhz.

$90

current i3 gets better fps than even 1800x.

z370 allows upgrade path to a 8700k and 8700k will be better for gaming than anything ever on am4 so z370 has a better upgrade path than am4.
