First, get sized on r/abrathatfits. I have to have ones with hooks because they provide far more support than the pull-over-your-head. Also, but ones by band and cup size, not ones that are S-XL sizing. This one by Glamorise is currently my favorite for support. I like my ones from Cacique too. Panache makes supportive bras for larger sizes, but for me the fit isn't right with that company.
If you live near a Cacique (Lane Bryant), you can order a bunch and then return them for free at the store. And certain stores on Amazon like NY Lingerie offer free returns. I recommend that and buying a bunch to try on knowing you won't lose any money if you have to return them.
I've been pretty happy with Glamorise wirefree bras from Amazon. Me and wires don't go well together, either. I have two of the Magic Lift band in 38DD and they are great and comfortable for every day and provide okay (not fabulous) shape for a wirefree bra. I honestly haven't found a wirefree bra that replicates a wire. But I can't wear a wire for more than an hour or so, so I usually end up trying one on for a big occasion, then giving up before I leave the house and putting on my Glamorise!
I also have one of their Sports bras and I will not buy another brand. Period. Fabulous for me.
I honestly cannot recall if they are UK or US sizing at this time. I have to dig out my numbers, which I've saved somewhere. But I can recommend them as great every day bras. One of my t-shirt bras (first link) is 3 years old and another is one year old and I basically alternate them every day.
It did take me a little bit to figure out sizing, as I look through my Amazon order history. Looks like I tried the 38F first and then went down to the 38DD. I think was a 38F by the calculator on here and may have confused UK/US sizing.
