GMMK TKL https://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Modular-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B071KGHZY4

EDIT: to add ive used Razer, DasKeyboard, Ducky, and Corsair Keyboards. GMMK and Ducky are miles above others ive used. DasKeyboard was very durable tho, lasted a long long time.

ooh this does look interesting (except RGB, but i hope i can disable it?) A couple of questions though if I may:

  1. What's a decent price for this? Amazon has it for £126 is that what one would expect to pay for this?
  2. How much are the replacement switches/caps? What i've googled it seems like at around £50?
  3. By "making a custom" not sure what you mean. Does it mean that i'll have to map all the keys in some software?

    Thanks!

Looking to get my first mechanical keyboard because people won't shut up about how good they are (honestly still skeptical if I'm actually going to "get it" seeing as I've always found a $20 Walmart keyboard to always have nothing left to be desired, but fuck it here I go)

I've read the sidebar stuff and think I want a TLK with brown switches. I'd like some tactile feedback but silence is a must.

This first one is the one that I'm currently leaning towards.

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3597

It is REALLY stretching my budget so I'm kinda nervous about pulling the trigger. Would this be good for that price?

This was a runner up, but it looks like a cheaper build at a glance and is a little gaudy imo. It fit the criteria though.

Then there is this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071W2697M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

This is about what I feel comfortable spending for a keyboard, but I'm worried by undershooting by that much I might just be disappointed or worse end up with a defective crappy one (some pretty negative reviews there)

Any opinions?

Unsure of which one of these to purchase looking for advice/prod&cons of people who’ve owned them but one is the glorious modular mechanical gaming keyboard here and the ducky one 2 here both are relatively the same price and this will only be my 2nd mechanical ever so looking for a good review or just a flat out one is better than the other thanks

Must be a location thing?

On amazon, for me, the Tecware Phantom TKL is $43, the GMMK is $125

On the GMMK site, it's regularly $97, and $70 with the %25 discount (which is working again, for me... weird.)

Hey, I'm interested in getting a mechanical keyboard and I'm torn between the:

u/tendthekine · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

I bought a GMMK TKL (https://www.amazon.ca/Glorious-Modular-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B071KGHZY4) a few days ago. No complaints so far plus hot-swappable switches!

u/Hwsr · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards
  • ducky great value
  • razer bad value
  • das keyboard started to use cheaper parts
  • filco is just not as interesting anymore compared to other brands although their quality is great
  • wasd uses cheap keycaps unfortunately which rub off
  • i would stay away from gaming-branded keyboards in general although CM is one of the better ones
  • just making sure, you know layers? they are behind FN+1-0
  • again, gaming branded and priced as such

i would add to this list leopold and varmillo which you'll find a big selection of here: uk keyboardco and vortex tab series which should be easy to find in the uk (i.e. amazon)

edit: just realized the GMMK is available on amazon.co.uk. don't want to toss you down the rabbit hole but this would allow for much more interesting switch choices as you can just swap them out almost as easy as keycaps
u/Almost_a_TANK · 1 pointr/buildapc

If I'm going to be honest with you, I typically don't recommend Corsair keyboards, because from a value standpoint, they can be beat on cheaper or similarly priced keyboards. For $70, the Drevo BladeMaster would be a better pick, as it uses Gateron switches, which are regarded by many to be better than Cherry switches, it uses a standardised keycap layout, meaning if you wanted to swap the keycaps, you won't have any dramas finding some at a good price and it's got plenty of RGB lighting for good measure.

Some other keyboards worth mentioning if you're buying from Amazon are the Cooler Master MK730 or if you're willing to spend that little extra, the Ducky One Mini 2 which is what I personally have or the Glorious GMMK.

u/reboticon · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Ah, TKL is I guess what I mean. So you'd recommend the small version of this?
