Not ebay, but....I bought this bag back in december and it is AMAZING for the price! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EF16AWW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The stitching is perfect and the leather is actually not too bad. My favorite part about the bag is that it has the look of the straps, but it is actually a buttoned satchel.
I have a Chinese made messenger bag Link from Gootium. I've only used a few times but its a nice carry on for air travel.
Are you looking for something casual or formal? Obviously leather (or synthetic) bags will look more formal, though you can make some canvas bags work with formal attire (i.e. suits or just shirt & tie). It will be hard to find a good quality bag at that price point, but here are a few options:
