$750 not including tax or shipping costs, and this years after the initial price drop.

Additionally, /r/gpdwin is full of posts with GPD Win 2 units experiencing the bloated battery issue. It's not rare, it's a hardware fault which happens to every device over time. I own one so I visit that sub fairly frequently.

It's overpriced if you compare to Aliexpress, I got it from lanruo for $877.

Others have already said basically the same thing, but I'll add to the pile.

The GPD XD will be great for everything you want to do with the exception of Nintendo 3DS, PSVITA and Persona 4. An actual PS VITA can be had used for a little over $100. If you jailbreak it, you now have access to the entire VITA library + Persona 4 Golden and games up to and including the PS1 and Gameboy Advance, but Nintendo DS emulation isn't really viable due to a much slower CPU compared to the GPD, though I guess they're working on that. Still no 3ds.

If you want everything on one device in your pocket, you'll need a GPD Win 2, which is orders of magnitude more expensive. It's also powerful enough to run Citra (Nintendo 3ds emulator), a Playstation 2 emulator (Persona 4), All consoles up to and including Gamecube, and all but the most demanding of PC games. The only thing you'll really be lacking there is VITA games, as there aren't any viable VITA emulators out there yet that I'm aware of. (Vita3k looks promising. Not there yet though).

A laptop with performance on par with, or better than a Win 2 can be had for less than a Win 2 goes for, but it's not exactly pocket friendly. Still, this might be a viable way to go paired with a decent controller as long as you don't mind lugging it around. Some benefits too, such as a larger screen and better heat management on account of a larger device.

Want extra style points and be Cyberpunk AF? Pair a laptop with an Oculus GO standalone VR headset and a controller. Use Virtual Desktop to put yourself in a virtual space in front of a gigantic hovering display and play all your emulators that way. You are now officially a huge nerd, and have to tote around a bag to carry all this stuff with you, but the concept is undeniably cool.

It's not an Indiegogo product for quite some time now, it's valid production unit:

You can get it via Aliexpress and others for cheaper if you prefer, or rely on Amazon's customer's protection for extra bit of cash.

Oh, and it's not exactly "shiny" :) It's not an Apple or a Microsoft device, it's a low-end handheld laptop with clunks here and there (that's been mostly ironed out from my personal experience, but there are always exceptions), it has it's quirks and requires fiddling here and there to get the most of, but if you like that sort of thing and don't expect a boot up and play experience like the Switch, you can get much more than your money's worth.

I currently play Fallout NV's Tale of Two Wastelands on it on the couch between Stellaris and fully patched and expanded Civ VI bouts, and it's frickin' awesome :D Much better than my Switch that currently gathers dust in my cupboard.

Mini PC that's meant to be an emulator and has a built in gamepad.

This is probably your best bet, but I think you need to carry a hotspot or tether to your phone.

You mean something like the GPD Win 2? It's a tiny Windows 10 computer that's basically intended for gaming.

It can even play stuff like Overwatch locally at 60 FPS. No streaming required. A novelty to be sure, but a really neat piece of tech, and would be perfect for Stadia. The major downside is the price. You can get a very powerful desktop for the same price as the GPD Win 2's base model. Hell, you can even buy a pretty decent laptop for that price. So you're really just paying for the portability and 'wow' factor.

It's a joke but I guess I'll have to explain the joke. People praise the Switch for bringing "AAA" or "console quality" games to handhelds when handheld versions of home consoles even PC have been around since the Game Gear and Turbo Express/PC Engine GT. The Game Gear, Nomad, and Turbo Express were all portable versions of the Master System, Genesis (it could not play MD games) and Turbo Grafix 16/PC Engine respectively. The Nomad and PSP 2000/3000/Go, and Nvidia Shield Portable all have video outs and the PS Vita TV can easily have a custom wist added to it to make all Vita games playable. The PSP, Vita, and 3DS/ New 3DS also all had decent serviceable ports of AAA budgeted games that were only available on PC/Console. They also all have their own AAA games. Most of the games that would have been exclusive for Vita would later be remastered for PS4 even. So they idea of the Switch being original is bunk.

The Win2 is listed at $794 on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Handheld-Portable-Gameplayer-Notebook-Graphics/dp/B07CK7DRYS/
SSD is $220 on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Transcend-512GB-MTS400-Solid-TS512GMTS400S/dp/B076X365T6/
Plus time & software to image the original drive and transfer it properly to the new SSD

So (to me) it feels like $900 is fair but of course the ebay listing allows people to lob in any bid they want (within reason).
