Things that helped me immensely:

  • Gym Bag like this (brand doesnt matter, just get one that you like).

  • Your own clamps, like these. These help me out a lot because 99% of the clamps at any gym I've been to are missing or bent/damaged to hell.

  • Some good Wireless headphones that are comfortable

  • Sweat Wicking material clothes (sometimes called DriFit). I wouldnt get socks like this though because in my experience they make your shoes smell horrible.

  • Water bottle

    I'll edit in anything I might have missed later.

    Edit: Some things I missed:

  • If you plan on using the gym lockers - get a padlock/combo lock. People be stealin shit

  • I would avoid lifting gloves, but that means you need to take care of your hands. Get some moisturizer (your wife will probably be able to help there) and a good pumice stone for when your calluses get to be a bit much. Some calluses are good, too much are bad (they will rip off and shit).
